A Tribute to the Gumm Family & Their Songs

Where It Began....

Back in 1995, our producer was asked to research the songs that the Gumm family had sung. Soon a list of 10 songs became 100! This information was printed in a short phamphlet called "Musical Memories" still available at the Judy Garland Birthplace (see Links).

In June of 1997, "An Afternoon with the Gumm Family in 1925" (living history program) was presented in the actual home where the Gumms had lived in Grand Rapids, Minnesota with some of these songs. Attendees included Judy's husband, Sid Luft, and her son, Joe Luft, as well as The Munchkins, Gumm cousins and many, many fans.

Over time, it seemed like it would be a good idea to record some of these wonderful songs for posterity. Thus was born our vaudevillian CD.
