The Force Eternal (Chapter Three)
Jedi Master Brakas thought that he had been through every dangerous situation possible. After all, he had survived the attacks by the remnants of the Sith two hundred years before--when he was still a child. He had also been at Loat Ghein, when the star went nova and no one knew if they would get out alive. And he had been a major force in the insurrection of Rathazan, as that system’s rebel forces finally overthrew the corrupt government that had killed five Jedi for trying to barter a peace accord. His appointment as head of the Yavin Academy was a sign that the Order respected all he had done for the Republic and for the Jedi and that it was time for him to slow down and enjoy the twilight of his life. But of all the ways he envisioned of dying, he never thought of this one.
Blasted to pieces by Sith fighters and bombers. It was demeaning.
Sitting at the Academy’s control center, he had front row seats to the death of the next generation of Jedi Knights and Masters. What made it worse was that there was nothing he could do. All defensive measures and protective weapons had been properly disabled by the Sith on the first wave of their attack. He couldn’t even call for help as the communication arrays had been decimated as well.
“Sith attack craft, forty seconds from optimal firing range,” shouted a subordinate from the censors.
Master Brakas always thought he would die in his bed or in battle--always ready to face it. This, however, was not what he had in mind.
Various persons entered the control center. Brakas turned to see the visiting Krokukkon, Serania Burtell, Adea J’Brar and several other students and teachers pour into the large room.
“Sith, thirty seconds from optimal firing range,” repeated the subordinate.
“Is there nothing that we can do, Master?” asked Serania. Her eyes shone with a light that still cried defiance, even at this moment of futility.
“No, we have no way of defending ourselves,” replied Brakas. “The best we can do is put the children in the levels below and hope that they don’t get as damage down there as the surface will.”
But everyone present knew that the large force coming for them was coming with enough firepower to level Yavin Four from existance. Nothing would be left.
****************************************************************************
Aboard the Sith command ship, Nekki watched as his fighters approached the foolish Jedi Academy. With wings of death to carry us, thought Nekki as he remembered an ancient Sith poem, we shall bring swift vengeance to our usurpers.
“We shall be the darkness that swallows them whole,” began to recite Nekki, “And the tide that leaves not one rock on the shore. The power and the might that we bring; will make our enemies bow before us and kiss our feet.”
“Twenty seconds from optimal firing range,” spoke one of his subordinates. “Sir, should we not tell the fighters to engage?”
“No,” replied Nekki through his teeth, “let them cower in their seats. This shall be done as masterfully and precisely as possible. To rush our actions would mean we fear the Jedi. But look out there,” he waved his hand to the empty space before them, “there is nothing for us to fear here. The Jedi fear us. We are fear.”
“Yes, sir,” replied the subordinate, turning back to his console.
“We are fear,” said Nekki, relishing the taste of the words. “We are Sith.”
****************************************************************************
The same questions were being thought by the Sith fighter pilots. They were within firing range, but had yet to deliver a single blow to the hated Jedi. Finally, some decided to ask their squadron leader.
“Captain,” asked one pilot, “why haven’t we shot? They’re defenseless before us!”
“Calm down,” replied the captain, “our fleet commander wants to ensure a glorious triumph for the Sith. As soon as we are within optimal firing range, which should be in less than twenty seconds, we will receive orders to level Yavin Academy to nothingness.” With an icy tone, he added, “Bear your burden a few more moments and the glory will be yours as well.”
The pilots kept closing upon Yavin’s fourth moon. The day was theirs.
****************************************************************************
“Sir,” spoke the Sith subordinate, “fighters are within optimal firing range. All squadron leaders report having weapons at the ready and targets all picked.”
“Very well,” replied Nekki. “For the glory of the Sith, fire!!”
As he spoke these words, shapes of all sizes appeared before and around them.
****************************************************************************
“We have our orders, men,” shouted the squadron leader, “Fire!”
“Sir!” replied one of the pilots, “We have incoming!”
The squadron leader never acknowledged the message as a barrage of fire shattered his Rad-Ul fighter to tiny fragments. His second-in-command immediately ordered, “Sith squadrons, break off! Break off!” He never got to see his first battle order completed as his fighter also disintegrated under a rain of fire.
****************************************************************************
Nekki saw as the shapes took the form of fighters, small cruisers and capital ships. What was going on? he asked himself. No one knew of this attack; no one!! How could this be happening?! Seizing himself, he began to throw orders around.
“Have our support ships come about!!” he shouted at the men in the command deck. “Tell our fighters to break off and engage the enemy!! At once!”
“Sir, yes, sir!” rebounded the replies all around him. He turned to see what had once been quiet and empty space and now saw hundreds of ships and fighters--all raining destruction on his forces. How could this have happened?!
****************************************************************************
If Nekki and the Sith were surprised, the Jedi down on Yavin Four were exited. They couldn’t believe their eyes, but the truth was real. Not only was a large and unforeseen force come out of nowhere to save them, it was doing a real good job of destroying the Sith.
“Identify the marks on those ships!” immediately ordered Master Brakas. “They still might be foes, so let’s not get our hopes up!”
But the truth was he did not feel threatened by the newcomers. On the contrary, the dark wave of death that had seemed so close was lifting from him. It seemed that he and his students would live to fight again. The cries of joy that surrounded him only reflected his own spirits--but he kept his hopes to himself.
“Sir,” answered another Jedi, “those ships are tagged with the military codes of the kingdom of Antar Mega.” “The Antareans?” asked Master Brakas. “What are they doing way out here?”
“No idea, sir,” came the reply with a smile, “but aren’t you glad to see them?”
****************************************************************************
Nekki was, however, not glad to see the Antarean warriors appear out of nowhere. The victory that had been so close for him and his ilk was now slipping from his grasp. He watched as the fighters around him disappeared into clouds of fire and never returned. The other ships under his command were suffering from a barrage from their Antarean counterparts. Before him, Bane’s Might, the third largest ship in the fleet exploded in a fiery show that forced him to cover his eyes.
“Sir, orders,” shouted a subordinate. “What are we to do?”
“Order the Fist of Palpatine and the Venom to come around and guard the left flank!” quickly said Nekki. “They are to punch through the enemy’s wall. No matter what!” This day would still be theirs, thought Nekki.
****************************************************************************
As the two Sith ships came around and began their maneuver, the Antarean ships made no move to shore their offensive wall. Master Brakas and the Jedi all watched the battle from below--an unwilling audience to a ballet that had their lives in the balance. Watching the ships try to go through their opponents, their only role in this play was to provide some commentary.
“Well,” replied Serania, “if the Antarean general is any good, he will continue to defend that flank and try to go through the right.”
While the others sounded their agreement at her assesment, Krokukkon was not sure. Then, to their unsuspecting eyes, the Antarean ships completely moved from the left flank. They had surrendered a side to the Sith without a fight!
“Well,” grimly stated Serania, “I guess he’s not that good.”
The Wookie Jedi roared his disagreement. There was some logic to the move, as well as something familiar.
****************************************************************************
“The fools!” Nekki happily shouted. How could those idiots have completely exposed their left side. The day was theirs again!
“Order all of our ships to move in and kill them all!” ordered Nekki. His men turned to make his orders a reality. They were going to win. “Move us in as well,” he added, “let us lead the Sith to victory!” Suddenly a red alarm went off.
“Sir, collision emergency!” shouted another subordinate. To their horror, one of the Sith fighters was tumbling out of control towards their underside. Before anyone could do a thing about it, the fighter crashed unto the command ship and exploded. Damage alarms sounded throughout the entire ship.
“Damage assesment!” asked an exasperated Nekki.
“Sir, our propulsion systems are shot down,” replied a lieutenant. “We are dead in space.”
"No! Nekki nearly thundered. His dreams of leading the Sith to this triumph were quickly dashed. He gnashed his teeth and held his fury at bay. Still, he figured, he could still win. “Tell our repair crews to fix the damage and fast or they shall be thrown outside! Order every Sith ship to crush that left flank!”
“Sir,” replied the lieutenant.
****************************************************************************
“What was that Antarean captain thinking?!” thought Serania out loud, still shocked at the sudden surrender of the Antarean ships of their left side. She watched as the whole of the Antarean fleet gathered in the center and far right--putting as much distance as possible from the incoming Sith battlecruisers.
“Why is he turning tail and running?” Serania continued. “He was winning the battle.”
None of the Jedi saw it. None that is, except Krokukkon, who suddenly began to laugh loudly. The others turned and gave their Wookie counterpart odd glances. Meanwhile, the woolly Jedi simply continued to laugh uncontrollably.
****************************************************************************
Nekki watched as the Sith armada plunged straight into the enemy forces. His orders were clear: level all of the ships except for the command ship. That one, they were to incapacitate and take over. He wanted a good look at the opposing commander before he dispatched him in a very cruel manner.
“Sir,” spoke another lieutenant, “enemy fighters approaching our forces.”“Tell them to plow through those fools and fast,” he replied. “I grow tired of this waiting.”
Nekki turned, as the lieutenant relayed his orders, and watched the small blinks that were fighters approach his ships. He also noticed that the ships in front of his attack--those that had been at center--were parting ways and exposing the command ship. They are probably turning tail and running out of here, he thought.
He never thought of what was happening until he saw it. The enemy fighters, instead of engaging his ships, broke off and started coming his way. At the same time, his own vessels, which were charging into the enemy, were victimized by an immense barrage of fire--as the enemy ships focused their turrets on one small section of space. And, the ships that had broken off were quickly surrounding the Sith ships--preventing any escape whatsoever.
“No, no, NO!!!” screamed the Sith Knight, as the enemy ruse was finally revealed. His ships were being decimated and there was nothing he could do. Meanwhile the enemy’s fighter squadrons were coming for him--and he had no means of escape.
****************************************************************************
The Jedi, who had been hesitant of truly cheering for their Antarean saviors, now laughed and cheered as they saw the true motives of their captain. Krokukkon began to growl his approval of the plan--deeming it one worthy of Jedi ability. Serania and Adea joined him and the others as hugs and thanks were exchanged by all.
****************************************************************************
Nekki, still defiant, refused to answer the signals of the enemy command ship. He knew what it would be--a demand for total surrender. Well, he thought, there would be no surrender here. They would have to kill him first.
“Tell our crews to finish repairs now!” he barked at his subordinates. “All of our batteries, open fire on the incoming fighters!”
He watched as the space before him was lit with red and orange plums of laser fire. The enemy fighters began to skip away from the incoming fire, but some were destroyed.
“Have our ships broken through the enemy wall yet?” he asked. The subordinate simply looked at his screen and said in a dead tone, “Our ships have been destroyed or surrendered. There are none left”
The news hit the Sith warrior gravely. He was all alone in this fight now. “Power up our engines,” he ordered, “we shall still prevail.” “Sir,” the lieutenant replied, “engines are still not at maximum. Jump to lightspeed is still impossible and maneuverability is hindered. At best, we can slowly crawl away.” The Sith lieutenant was picked by his collar and raised by a demonically-charged Nekki. “Crawl away? Crawl away?!” he thundered, “We shall do no such thing. We are Sith. We are the dark side. We are to be feared. And by Palpatine’s legacy, we will be feared!”
Tossing the lieutenant to the floor, he ordered out loud, “Charge up our engines. All power to the laser batteries and the engines. Now!” Regaining his seat in front, he continued, “Set us on a collision course with Yavin Four. Let’s teach these weaklings how the Sith instill fear on the galaxy.”
The men around him were unsure of the orders they had just received. A second lieutenant spoke, “Sir, are we to evacuate the ship? What about life support?”
As soon as the subordinate had finished uttering his questions, the Sith warrior rose and ignited a red lightsaber blade. Before he could do something about it, the lieutenant was cut down in half by the blade. Nekki stood furious above the remains and looked around the command deck. No one moved. “No one gets out,” he shouted. “Seal off all the escape tubes and draw all power to either the batteries or the engines!” Shutting off his saber, his look defied anyone to try anything. The subordinates did nothing. “Follow my orders or I shall kill you. You can either die in glory or die in shame,” he continued. “But die you will!”
The men around him slowly began to put his orders in motion. Nekki looked to ensure this was all getting done. He reminded himself that these were not Knights of the Sith--they had no resolve and no desire to see the glory.
****************************************************************************
“Master Brakas,” shouted one of the Jedi. “We have incoming.”
The Jedi stopped and saw the mighty Sith ship fight its away towards them. The Antarean fighters were doing all their possible to destroy the engines, but an amazing shower of lasers kept everyone at bay. Those brave enough to move in to do some serious damage were greeted with their own deaths at the hands of the laser batteries. The swarm of Antarean fighters were kept at bay--forcing them to inflict lesser damage from a greater distance.
“All Jedi not at the necessary posts,” immediately ordered Brakas, “into the lower levels. Now!”
The various Knights began to run into the Academy’s shelters and bunkers. Krokukkon and Serania were unsure of what to do--they had no posts, but they did not want to leave the command center. Before they could argue, Adea stepped to Master Brakas and spoke for them.
“Master,” she said, bowing, “we humbly request to stay here and hold the line with you.”
The Jedi Master was taken aback. Had she not been a Sith Lord? What was she doing here, asking to help them? Still, he could not be but touched by her actions. “Very well,” he replied, “though, it’s a bad idea, you may all stay.”
Adea smiled and bowed again. Both Krokukkon and Serania were still perplexed. Seeing their faces, she laughed and said, “Hey, I may still be trying to get you both killed.” Turning, she winked to the woolly Jedi and watched as the Sith cruiser bore down on Yavin Four.
****************************************************************************
The Sith ship was slowly gaining speed--a mixture of the boost of power from within the ship and the increasing grasp of gravity. With their dying breaths, Nekki and the Sith pilots were guiding their battlecruiser straight for the Academy’s facilities. They would die accomplishing their mission--the destruction of the Jedi’s number two center in the entire galaxy.
****************************************************************************
Meanwhile the Jedi watched horrorstruck as the Sith cruiser approached the Fourth Moon. They knew that, once fully trapped by the moon’s gravity well, nothing could prevent the crashing of the ship.
“I suggest you start praying,” Master Brakas said softly to the few people remaining, “because we need a miracle right now.”
Everyone around him slowly nodded and closed their eyes. Brakas turned and saw Adea’s green eyes staring right at him. The Jedi Master understood the question in her eyes. Still, she approached him and spoke into his ears, where none but him could hear. “And too whom shall I pray?” she asked. Pulling back, she faced the Jedi and continued, “I am no longer a Sith, not in my heart. I have walked their dark path and found nothing at its end, but eternal darkness. Their promises of power were empty and their glory is that of death.”
“Why did you become Sith?” asked Master Brakas.
Looking back at him, she smiled and answered, “That is a long story. I don’t know if we should take the time right now.”
“Why?” replied the Jedi. “After all, you’re only taking my attention away from death’s blow. It’s not like I want to spend my last few moments staring at death. Go ahead, tell me. What makes someone embrace the dark side of the Force and the Sith?”
They moved away from the rest and she began to tell him. “I was born to a family of weapon traders and suppliers in Kessel,” she said. “However, before my sixth birthday, we were branded as outlaws by the trickery of various enemies that wanted to take over my family’s businesses. We became runaways and took in with a tribe of thieves. It wasn’t long, however, till bounty hunters and gangsters swarmed around us. Many of the tribe lost their lives defending us.”
Adea stopped for a moment, collecting herself and trying to shield her pain and anguish from everyone around her. “I watched my entire family--father, mother, brothers, sisters--as they were summarily slaughtered by these killers. I had been entrusted to an elderly lady, who made sure to protect me from the bounty hunters. After that, I lived with her for two years, when Darth Vassoran found me on the sixth moon of Dregor. He took me away from the elderly lady and made us vanish into the darkness of space. No one from the old tribe ever saw me again.”
“He took me away,” she continued, “and explained all that had happened to me. He said that the ones responsible had been you, the Jedi. That they had not been there to protect me nor my family. The Jedi had let the men responsible ruin my family and turned us into criminals. He asked me if I wanted revenge and deep down, though I knew it wasn’t what my family would have wanted, I said yes. He took me and trained me as a Sith warrior. From that day, I belonged to him--mind, body and soul.”
“In the end, I became one of his best warriors,” she said with a sigh. “For my final test, I returned to Kessel and took my revenge on the men directly responsible for all of my misfortunes. But, by this time, my rage was not only at them, but all those like them and, most importantly, against my betrayers, the Jedi. Once I had become a Dark Lord of the Sith, second only to Vassoran, he bestowed upon me control of a sector. I proceeded to destroy all of the bounty hunters and gangsters within it--my rage striking at all those I despised.”
Looking up to the eyes of the ancient Jedi Master, she finished, “I hated you all for such a long time, but now, that hate has been destroyed. Whatever may be said about jail, and there’s a lot about it one can say that is not good, it does provide you with lots of times to think. I saw the Jedi were not my true enemies. I saw that Vassoran had tricked me and used my mastery of the Force to fulfill his purposes. I had been duped. Once I realized that, my attitude changed. And now, I don’t know who I am or where my place is in this galaxy.”
Master Brakas placed his hand on the former Sith Lord’s shoulder and smiled at her. “You have led a very hard life,” he replied. “But now you are free from the grasp of others. You are the one who must choose where your life goes. No one--Sith, Jedi, holy or evil--can make you turn into something you are not. I hope that you will find the path to happiness.”
“If we get out of here,” remarked Adea, with a weight clearly off her back. “I don’t think the Sith mean for us to leave.” They both turned to the panels that showed the charging cruiser, bearing down mightily upon them.
“We’ll see about that,” offered Brakas. “We’ll see about that.”
****************************************************************************
On space, the Sith ship was beginning its run at the Yavin moon. From within, Nekki was smiling. He looked around at the pitch black command center and saw the few remaining soldiers slowly crawl, as the air thinned out around them. He had drawn all power to the ship’s batteries and engines--none was left for life support. As he looked back to the moon, he thought it was perhaps for the best. This way there was no mad dash for the escape pods; no sudden change of heart by weaklings.
The Jedi were doomed.
Out of nowhere, a flash of light appeared. He immediately recognized it as the enemy’s barrage. The larger cruisers had finally joined their fighters in attacking the doomed Sith ship. Looking at a small console on his chair, he realized that he was close to the moon’s gravity well. Once in its grasp, nothing could be done to prevent the damage--whether the ship crashed in one or a million pieces.
“All power,” he thinly spoke, “to engines.”
The computers within the Sith’s ship made the orders come true. He felt the surge of power to the damaged engines as well as the unopposed barrage of the enemy’s forces. It would soon not matter. Seconds was all he needed to make his master’s orders a reality. He would triumph. Inside, he only wanted to live long enough to make sure this happened.
He looked up and saw the enemy’s command battleship move straight in front of his. Nekki gritted his teeth. Fine, he thought, if he wants me to run him down and truly destroy all life on Yavin Four, he would comply. He didn’t mind the flashes of blue, red and yellow that streaked all around him and began to eat large chunks of his ship. Nothing mattered, he was going to win. He was going to win.
Those were his last thoughts as a large blast tore through the center’s last defenses and swallowed the Sith Knight and all that had died alongside him. He never knew that the Antareans destroyed all of the large chunks--forced to let the smaller ones go. They, in turn, tore through the Yavin jungle and started fires that ate the jungle up. The fire retardant systems tried putting out the fires, but with many damaged it became impossible to completely do so.
However, the Sith attack had been stopped. The Jedi would live on.
****************************************************************************
The Jedi and their guest slowly looked up at their readouts. In a matter of minutes, the large fleet of Sith warships and star fighters had disappeared from the sky. Now, only the Antarean fleet remained – along with the many questions that it brought along with it.
“Master Brakas,” one of the Jedi said, “we are being hailed by the main Antarean vessel.”
Helping a few of his students to their feet, Master Brakas turned and faced the holoview screen. “Go ahead and put it through.” The image shimmered and turned, finally revealing an imposing military man in his late 50s. He was the sort of serious men that saw their job as the most important. “Greetings, Jedi Master Brakas, I am Admiral Ganell Dekor of the First Antarean Regal Fleet. I have been instructed to coordinate any rescue and relief efforts with you. Is everyone all right?”
Composing himself, the Master spoke, “Yes, all here seem to be none the worse for wear.” Pausing he asked, “Who has instructed you? Why are you here?”
The Admiral smiled and answered, “By none other than the regal heir to the throne of Antar Mega, Jann Duvey.”
“What?!” was all the Admiral heard in reply.
********************************************************************************
The Jedi were eagerly awaiting the large entourage that was descending on the landing platforms. Fighters, cruisers and at the very center, the same golden shuttle that they had seen depart from Fennegen.
Except that, this time, it was carrying a friend.
The shuttle finally landed and a royal guard ceremoniously descended. Behind them was the Vizier, Maca Zun, that they had met on Fennegen. And right behind him, was their friend, Jann Duvey – except that this time he was wearing burgundy and golden robes. On his head was a golden circlet and his hands had many jewels and rings. He looked like a completely different persons.
Krokukkon could do nothing but turn his head sideways and murmur some questions. When his partner finally reached him, he managed to ask a simple question. Jann threw his head back and laughed. "Yes, yes,” he said. “It is I. And you can all start picking your chins off the floor.”
Serania also laughed and slowly began to ask, “Jann, are you in there somewhere?”
“Alright, that’s enough,” replied Jann in an amused tone. “I know I don’t exactly look like my normal, gorgeous self, but this will have to do.”
“Jedi Duvey,” said Master Brakas as he stepped forward. “My name is Master Brakas. I’m in charge of the Yavin Academy.”
“Of course, Master Brakas,” responded Jann, “I’ve heard much about you while on Coruscant. I am honored to meet you.”
Master Brakas replied, “The honor is all ours. Before we go any further though, let me be the first to thank you for your timely attack. You saved us all. But how did you know?”
“The Force is rather mysterious about its paths,” said Jann. “I did sense something wrong, but it wasn’t until we captured a shuttle that we knew what was going on. On it was the king of a world named Terturi and the remnants of his court. It seemed that he had allowed the Sith to claim his world as their home base. He thought they would unite their power with his. Instead they used him and took over his world. He managed to escape and was looking for allies when we stumbled upon him.”
“He knew of the Sith Lords’ plans?” asked Adea rather puzzled.
“Yes,” answered Jann, “it would appear that he was not as foolish as the Sith thought. He did manage to get spying listeners within the Sith’s dwellings. He learned that they had a three-pronged attack. Prong one was the attack on Fennegen. Prong two was the destruction of Yavin Four.”
“And the third prong?” asked Serania.
Jann looked at them, wary of what he was about to reveal. “The third prong of their attack is to use the full of their might against the Jedi Towers on Coruscant.”
***************************************************************************
Sha-wan Merkat stepped to the communicator and ignited the machine. It took but a few moments to unscramble the signal and reveal the visage of the Dark Lords.
“My lords,” Sha-wan acknowledged by bowing, “what do you command?”
“Sha-wan,” began Darth Belian, “we shall be on Coruscant shortly. Is everything prepared for our arrival?”
“Yes, my lords,” answered Sha-wan. “All awaits your arrival.”
“Good,” said Darth Rahn. “We shall be there in by today. Make sure all is ready.” With that, the images of the Dark Lords disappeared from sight.
“They come?” asked the figure in the shadows.
“Yes, honored one,” replied Sha-wan as he stood. “In a few hours, they shall be here.”
“Good,” the figure savored the word.
******************************************************************************
Jann received the replies from his subordinates in his private quarters aboard the shuttle. As he moved about, new and old subordinates moved within his orbit and stopped him after he got a step ahead. Serania and Adea were both caught by this sight; it was as if his friend had become a star and he managed to attract all sorts of space debris and satellites.
When the various lieutenants managed to give him a moment’s respite, Jann moved to his friends’ side and managed a small smile.
“Who would have thought?” said Jann. “Years ago, I was informed that my parents were some sort of nobility from a planet far from the galaxy’s center. At no time was I informed that my parents were monarchs!” Calming himself, he sheepishly added, “It’s all rather overwhelming, even for a Jedi.”
“Will the Council allow you? To retain your crown?” asked Serania.
“I’m not sure,” came the reply. “Master Zommo ordered me to follow Vizier Zun. Whether or not he knew the cause, I do not know. But I doubt the Jedi will allow anyone to juggle the duties of both Knight of the Order and ruler of a system. No one can have two masters.”
“What about the attack on Coruscant?” asked Adea. “Can we prevent it?”
“Communications to and from Coruscant seem to have been cut off. There’s relay messages implying some sort of accident, but I sense the hand of the Sith in this.””As well you should, Your Majesty,” announced Master Brakas, entering the room. “It would not be beyond the Sith to use third parties to accomplish their aims. With our communications down, we cannot inform anyone. And, it would seem, that the Sith plan their attack within the next hours.”
“Then we must haste,” replied Jann as he pushed a holo-transmitter into life. The image of the Admiral Dekor appeared. “Admiral Dekor, break up the fleet. Leave the slowest ships – cargo, large vessels, whatever – behind to safeguard Yavin Four and aid in their rescue and repair operations. The faster ships are going to burn towards Coruscant.”
“Your Highness, if you seek to reach Coruscant quickest, then only the Star Guardian should go. Though a larger class vessel, its engines are among the fastest in the galaxy.” That last sentence came with some pride.
“Very well, Admiral,” replied Jann. “Alert all the other commands and make sure that we are ready to move within the hour.” The hologram disappeared and the young Jedi Knight turned to his friends. “I think we should be there, don’t you all?”
