A Word From Our Sponsor
Hi! Welcome to my small site here on the far fringes of the Web. I'd just
like to take this time to say a few things about what I plan to do here in this
web site.
I know you are probably thinking: Why would anyone bother adding another website
to Star Wars! Well, truth be told, I like Star Wars. Saw The Empire Strikes
Back when I was a little tyke and got blasted away by what I saw. So, when someone
mentioned if I was willing to write fan fiction for Star Wars, I jumped at the
chance. (No, I am not a writer by design nor am I thinking this will garner me
any fame nor money). I'm doing this for the simple fun of it. As long as I
enjoy doing this, the site will be up for anyone to visit.
Now then, a few guidelines. In case you haven't noticed, there's a TON of Star
Wars material out there. From the movies to books to comic books to unofficial
material to fan fiction, the Star Wars universe seems to have been very well covered.
However, take a look out there. Most of the material seems to cover the same
stretches of time. It is stuff that's already been covered by either movies or books
or some such. Fan fiction sites, it seems, love to rethread these times--either
filling in gaps in time to fit their own stories or explaining away mistakes done
by other writers. I have no intention of doing this--though you may notice one
or two stories here that fit that mold. Well, no more!
If I do this, I will do it my own way. That means, I will NOT feature the characters
everyone knows and loves. In fact, you may not see them here at all. I will
also avoid a lot of the pitfalls done by other writers. That means: no Death Star-like
super weapons, no what-if stories about characters that have been set, no spotlighting
small characters from the films or the books (there's a reason they're small), no
bringing back from the dead or making of adults or how they meet or...you know
what I'm talking about.
So then, what will be out here? Simple. Fresh new faces and characters. New places.
New adventures. I'll peel back the veil of time and go forwards and back. I'll
thread through what has been told and tell of new characters and situations. Above all,
I'll try to avoid repeating what has been told before. Why? Because if I just
repeat everyone else's words, then this won't be much fun--for you or me. I'm
willing to take the chance that fans are tired of going through the same stuff
again and give new stuff out.
Enough of my high horse. Go on and enjoy. Let me know if this is working and,
if not, let me know that too. Oh yeah, I'd like to re-state that Star Wars,
its logo and all original charactes belong lock, stock and barrel to Lucasfilm,
Ltd. Any and all use of them is of a private matter and I make NO money out
of this site. (Oh, if it doesn't belong to George Lucas, it's mine, OK?)
Enjoy!

UPDATE: I can't believe it's taken me this long to finish the Star Wars 1000 story. Damn! Forgive me for taking so long. Still, a labour of love that's taken approximately 3 years to finish is now done. I'm going to go take a break and then determine what I want to do. I still have a few stories here and there running in my head. (Can anyone say Star Wars 800?) I will wait, though, and see whether it matters or not that I continue and whether or not I want to continue doing this. Till then,
