
Alexander MacGregor
Alexander was listed as a United Empire Loyalist refugee from the American Colonies arriving in Digby in May of 1784. He settled in Petit Passage, Digby Co. and was a member of the Anglican Parish of Trinity. He received a grant of 100 acres in Clements Township in 1784 and a further 66 acres on Long Island in 1788. He was probably not related to the Granville MacGregors.
In the book "Loyalists in the American Revolution" under "Loyalists in the Southern Campaign", Volume II, Queen's Rangers, p.395 & 398:
Private Alexander MacGregor was on the Muster Roll for: Captain John MacKay's Company, Queen's Rangers, J. Graves Simcoe, Esq., Lieut. Colonel Commandant. 24 Oct 1778 - 23 Feb 1779 - 24 April 1779 25 Aug 1779 - 24 Oct 1779 - 24 Dec 1779
He was also listed in the "Muster
Roll of Disbanded Officers, etc. at Digby - 29 May 1784" as a Loyalist and was single
at that time.

(c) Catherine MacGregor; born 10 March 1821.
(d) Robert MacGregor; born 2 June 1824.

(f) Hannah MacGregor; born 6 Dec 1830.
(g) Ruth MacGregor; born 25 July 1832 (twin).
(h) Mary MacGregor; born 25 July 1832 (twin).
ii. Nelly MacGregor; baptized 27 August 1798.
iii. Elizabeth MacGregor; baptized 27 August 1798:
married on 31 December 1822, William Merritt, son of Nehemiah Merritt. Their children:

(d) Elinor Ann, born 1834.
(e) Ruth, born 11 September 1838.
