Where the beautiful Bear River meets the Annapolis Basin

Peter Alexander MacGregor found his bit of heaven on earth when he left Ontario and settled on his very own farm off the Chute Road on the Annapolis County side of the of the Bear River.  I remember as a teenager walking amongst his rows of giant corn that he grew in abundance.  His property provided a spectacular view of the River, yet it was secluded and very private for a private person.

Peter's older brother, Kenneth, was born in 1898, and married Muriel Newton.  He moved to the farm in Bear River after she died in 1955.

Their father, Peter MacGregor, was born in 1867, married Mary Lucas (born in 1866 and died in 1947) in Sarnia, Ontario on 14 July, 1890. The senior Peter died at Windsor, Ontario on 22 September, 1959.

Peter died at 55 years of age in 1956.  Kenneth died at 81 in 1979.   Peter's wife, Verna,  died at 84 in 1990.
