He is either a Grey wolf drop-off (by Ontario MNR) or an expellee from a local pack.  Whichever, he has no obvious Red Wolf (Canis Rufus) physical characteristics, only Gray Wolf.  Because of his size, during the annual two week breeding season, this fellow should do well in spreading his seed.
Explanation:  females would find him attractive, and he is powerful enough to "get his way".  The eyes betray no Coyote parentage.
