Construction began in June of 1997, with excavation of the site and erection of the foundation. The wall frames were finished in August. The loft flooring and trusses were installed by September. The galvanized metal roofing ws finished by the end of October, and the outside walls were finished by the end of November. The drops stairs were finished by December, and the office was finished by January of 1998. Work continued during the winter and the barn was insulated and wired by April. Cement was poured inside and all 96 doe cages were in place by August of 1998. Work continues to date, with all construction due to finish in the summer of 1999. The photo at right was taken in October of 1997. The barn is essentially finished now except for the outside metal skin.
