ayat. yazdi vows to abide by islamic principles as members of gc  
tehran, aug 15, irna -- on sunday, the leader of the islamic          
revolution, ayatollah seyed-ali khamenei, appointed ex-head of the    
judiciary ayatollah mohammad yazdi member of the guardians council,   
and in acknowledgement of the leader's edict, yazdi said that in his  
new job he would serve consistent with his religious duties.          
    in his letter to the leader, ayatollah yazdi offered his          
appreciation to him for having given him another opportunity to serve 
islam and the islamic revolution in his new post as member of the     
council.                                                              
    ayatollah yazdi expressed hope that relying on the almighty and   
looking forward to the leader's praying for him, he would be able to  
fulfill his religious and constitutional duties to the satisfaction   
of the almighty, of the imam of our time, hazrat mahdi (as), and of   
his present-day representative, the leader of the islamic revolution.
