"The great thing about baseball is that there's a crisis
every day." Gabe Paul
Welcome
From the Commissioner
I want to personally welcome you to the HBWRL, a real life field
of dreams
where legends play every day. Sportswriters argue endlessly about
who was
the greatest centerfielder, what would have happened if Nolan Ryan
had
faced Babe Ruth, etc. But in the HBWRL, legends from every era play
in
every game. The results of HBWRL games uniquely provide answers to
questions that others can only ask. But the real beauty of the
league is
not in the results themselves. It is the personalities that make it
up. A
hyperactive GM, an impeached commissioner, an all-star shortstop
named
Honus who always leaves the light on. Join us in this unique realm
where
the classical meets the modern, fantasy meets reality, and someone
will
always leave the light on for you.
Kevin Cincotta
Commissioner, HBWRL
"I believe in the Rip Van Winkle theory - that a man
from 1910 must be able to wake up after being asleep for seventy years,
walk into a ballpark and understand baseball perfectly." Bowie Kuhn, Commissioner of Baseball (1966-84)
