The purpose of this page has changed
somewhat since it was first put here. I used to run a packet radio BBS
system which served my local area, but during the life if this webpage the
operation of that BBS has ended. This perhaps is a sad statement on the
state of the hobby many have enjoyed. The way you are coming to read
this has perhaps as much, or more to do with the downfall of the Radio Hobby as
anything has. The truth is, that it is for the most part as much fun, at
a far lower cost really than Amateur Radio. Even so, it should be of
interest to many that this very mode come from the advances made in the field
of Amateur Radio perhaps more than any other single area. Without the
ground work for data transmission based in the radio science long before what
most could call computers come along, digital means of sending type written
text was an everyday item on the Amateur frequencies. So if you are just
a visitor here to this page, take a moment to reflect on the mode that perhaps
did as much, or more to further your enjoyment of the Internet today.
Please feel free to also visit my Astronomy page on the links to the left. It has several image files of objects, as well as links to many other points on the Internet in the area of Astronomy. It is also being expanded as time, and storage space permits. Comments, and suggestions are welcomed. You can find my email also in the links to the left of this screen. All the on site music files are midi files, and should be playable on most any system. The on site zipped program downloads are scanned with very current antivirus programs, and should pose no problem in that way. This site has been neglected somewhat by myself, due to other matters, but I hope to get it caught back up to date in the next few weeks. It has recently been updated to a framed page. (this page is framed in that it has more than one window in it.) It is in the process of being adapted to that change. In most cases, when you leave this page, you would close your browser window to return to this page, as it should open new windows for any page you visit off this one. If you find something does not work just reload the entire page. However it should all work as far as I can tell at this point. The addition of this framed page is pretty recent however, (12-8-2000) so it is possible there might be a few problems with navigation on the site yet. If you find one please email me to let me know.
