The Good      The Yahoo Messenger Client will chat on the most different operating systems possible. It is supported by Yahoo and should work when most do not on Voice and so on.

The Not So Good.       The Messenger is bootable, has a few other little problems that it can be subject to, and is not as dependable as it should be. While it has Voice, it does not mean it works well, and it has cams but they do not work well either. It say Beta on it most of the time and it also means it. Some releases of Messenger 5 have a major security issue also. I would suggest reading YIM Secure HTML on this site.
