Tweak UI

Tweak UI ( User Interface ) is a Microsoft Power Toy for Windows. After installing it, you can customize several features within the Windows operating system. tweak1.jpg These items include everything from log on at the start of Windows to the size or even if arrows appear on your desktop shortcuts to some repair tools for desktop icons. Once installed the TweakUI section can be entered from the control panel as would be the case with any other feature found there. Most all the functions are pretty straight forward and really require little explaination other than perhaps to note what changes you make so you can go back to the spot and undo them if you do not like them.

To obtain and install TweakUI. The Microsoft download link is Microsoft's Tweak UI download page, ( the url is too long to be put here but it will be at the bottom of this page also... ) or if you wish there is a zipped up copy with some basic installation instructions on the Zip Downloads page on this website. The TweakUI download is not large less than 100k. Save the folder anywhere you wish to on your hard drive or a floppy drive. Unzip it into a new folder, then using My Computer or Windows Explorer, browse to the folder you unzipped the contents into and then find the TWEAKUI.INF file. Right click on that and select Install in the options on the right click menu. The version at the time of this writing is 1.33 and is supposed to work for Windows versions 95/98/98se/NT/ME/2000. It does not say it is ok to use for Windows XP so XP users should not assume this version of TweakUI is for use with XP versions.
