The Herd Grapevine is well known in the MU community. This message board is visited by players, coaches, athletic department officials, members of the media, and their families. Remember this as you post. Also, be respectful of people's privacy. If a coach or an athletic department official tells you something in confidence, think before you post it on this message board.

To visitors from other schools This is a forum intended primarily for Marshall, and unruly behavior from visitors will not be tolerated on the general boards, please restrict smack talk to the smack boards only.

The Herd Grapevine BBS hopes to foster a healthy exchange of views about topics of public interest and concern. We do not actively monitor the contents of The Herd Grapevine and thus are not responsible for any messages posted. We do not vouch for the accuracy, completeness or usefulness of any message.

You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use the Herd Grapevine to post any material that is defamatory, inaccurate, abusive, obscene, profane, sexually oriented, threatening, invasive of a person's privacy, violate of copyright laws, or otherwise violate of any law.

If you have a problem with the possibility of your posts being deleted or edited at the discretion the board administrators and monitors please leave and use another service.

When asking about a deleted post please contact the administrator of this board by using the email address herdgrapevine@hotmail.com. Please do not post questions about deletions on the boards themselves.

The Herd Grapevine reserves the right to delete any post that it deems inflammatory, or that causes inflammatory responses. Moreover, any post that is not directly sports related may be deleted without notice at the discretion of the board administrator and monitors. Any one who is offended by a message and recommends that it be deleted may do so by contacting The Herd Grapevine at herdgrapevine@hotmail.com. Notifying The Herd Grapevine of a potentially offensive post does not guarantee that the message will or will not be deleted.

Messages that serve to incite other visitors may be deleted immediately at the discretion of the site manager. This may include personal attacks on athletes, the school administration, or other visitors to interactive sites.

Although The Herd Grapevine can delete messages, you remain solely responsible for the content of your messages, and you agree to indemnify and hold harmless The Herd Grapevine and the site manager with respect to any claim based upon transmission of your message(s).

The site manager reserves the right to post, not to post, edit or remove messages or deny access, without advance notice. If a situation occurs where a troublesome person is present, the best method to get rid of him is to ignore him, not to engage him. Also, heated discussions may best be handled by exchanging e-mail addresses and carrying on private conversations. Users are also asked not to use The Herd Grapevine's interactive sites for personal uses such as advertising or linking to commercial sites without first obtaining permission from the site manager (this does not include links to news articles or stories). Any user posting on the Herd Grapevine message boards is implicitly agreeing to these rules, regardless of whether they have been read or not.

Other Rules

1. You must either post an email address or activate instant messages or your post will be deleted.

2. You MUST use the same handle on all your posts. Multiple handles from the same IP address are also grounds for messages to be immediately deleted.

3. Absolutely no flaming, profanity, or personal attacks. Included is "disguised" profanity by the use of characters such as $.

4. No references to a person's or groups sexual preferences may be made in a post.

5. Posting multiple posts on the same subject in the same day is not allowed. For this purpose this would be interpreted as three separate posts in a single day or the same basic subject.

6. Negative posts about Players abilities or effort's is counter productive and is strongly discouraged. These type posts may be deleted at the monitor's discretion.

5. If you are only interested to putting down Marshall University or the Mid American Conference or any opponent of the Herd please go to another forum.

7. Messages must be relative to college sports and other MU activities and deemed in good taste. While a discussion of other schools' athletic programs is permissible, messages by users who attempt to use The Herd Grapevine to promote another school may be deleted.

Similarly, discussions about alleged NCAA recruiting violations have proven counterproductive. Therefore, rumors of recruiting violations are discouraged and generally are not permitted. However, a discussion of news reports of ongoing investigations is permissible.

8. Tickets offered for sale on this site must be offered at face value or less.

9. All polls will be closed after 24 hours.
