Candy Toys
(Kabaya)

  

The candy toys show in here are mainly the Transformers Toys made by Kabaya in the early 80s. Kabaya have made two kinds of Transformers toys, small box series and big box series. The small box series contains two boxes. The upper top is a smaller box that contains the model toy. The bottom bigger box contains the chocolate candy. As the toy contain in this series is very small, so they only resemble part of the transformation of the real toys. The big box series however only have 1 box only with both toy and chewing gums inside. The crafting of the toy is exactly as the real toys. They also contain an unapplied stickers sheet as the real one. These toys are made of soft plastic and easy to break after numerous transformation. Its not easy to find them now and to maintain their conditions. To certain extend, this is even more difficult to find than most of the Transformers toys today. I have used more than 2 years to find them through different channels. There is no other people putting in this series of toys in the web pages so far. Hope you will like my collection. I also have to mention that there is an licence copy of the toy by a Korea company Kukje. The plastic and the sticker sheet is a little bit inferior in quality compare to the Japanese one but still playable.

In the past, people treated candy toys as some kind of fun only. They don't pay attention to assemble the toy and keep the conditions of it. The cost of making these toys are actually very high. Today, although there are still some other candy toys out there, but the quality and design can never compare with those in the 80s.

This is the best candy toy combiner ever made. It uses 3 boxes to make the whole set. Toy totally resemble the real toy. Perfect

This set actually is the one that shown on page 138 of the book "THE UNOFFICIAL GUIDE TO JAPANESE AND INTERNATIONAL TRANSFORMERS". I brought it after he took the picture of the toy.

This is similar to the Defensor, also resemble all characteristic of the real toy. It is almost impossible to find another set today.

The small figure can transform into the head itself. The power meter also design very good. They don't have spring as the real toy, but when you push in the head, the reading shows up; when you pull out the head, it the partially attached part reset the meter. Its difficult to describe, but you can feel it when you got the real toy on hand.

Fortress Maximus (1 build set)

The fortress Maximus is able to transform into 3 modes, the Fortress, the Space Shuttle and the robot. Resemble around 90% of the toy. The only thing is the head cannot be transform into robot and sword is not included in this set.

Sixshot is regarded as one of the most incredible Transformers ever made. It can transform into a jet fighter, a laser pistol, a battle tank, a car, a winged-wolf and a robot. The candy toy resemble the full tranformation of the real toy. Its having a lot of fun to play with it. But there are too many joints in this set and is quite fragile.

This is one of my favourite candy toy. Super Ginrai can transform into a semi-trailer, a base and a robot just like the original toy. The only bad thing is the engine is just a piece of plastic instead of transforming from a small figure. But its already very good, who cares. Another thing is it cannot combine with the God Bomber in Series 2 which is in different scale.

This candy toy is great. Totally resemble the real toy. Small figure can transform into engine. Dreadwind and Darkwing can join together.

The quality of the plastic is close to the Japanese version, however the stickers sheet is not that good. As I mentioned before, this one cannot combine with the Super Ginrai in series 1, their scale is different. However, the design of the God Bomber have all characteristics of the real toy.

Six Knight(1 build set only)

Six Knight is also smilar to Sixshot. It can transform into a jet, a laser pistol, a battle tank, a turbojet, a tiger and a robot. The candy toy resemble the full tranformation of the real toy. Its having a lot of fun to play with it. This one is not as fragile as Sixshot.

As far as I remember, the Seacons in the Masterforce TV cartoon series is very weak. They are easily destroyed. The toy itself trys to resembles all the toy characteristics, even this "special" cartoon characteristic. Apart from the main body, each of them can transform into robot, beast and weapon mode. The color itself is very closed to the toy. However, the plastic used is very soft, its easily broken in here and there. Another thing is in the King Poseidon mode, the arms cannot move up and down as the other combines sets.

The toy it self resemble 90% of the toy, It can form the Star Saber seperately but not the Victory Leo cannot fully transform back. Overall speaking, not so outstanding for this one.

This candy toy is great. The toy resemble 90% of the real toy. Although they also have a piece of plastic(the beast) that can put on the chest in robots mode and put on hands as weapon, but they cannot transform as beast as the real toy. The weapon of Leo Ceasar also as the same as the real toy. Overall its still a very nice set.

Buying Price: USD 20.00 for used set missing laser gun.

This toy is missing the laser gun when I brought in. Apart from that, it alos lost the dragon hand and the leg cover. I use a lot of time to rebuild these parts from plastic boards. It looks pretty good now. The lion on the breast can be taken out to form the gun but cannot transform back to lion. Overall transformation is good.
