DOZIER MISSOURI, MP 32.4 ON THE JEFFERSON CITY SUB NEAR PACIFIC, MISSOURI.
EASTBOUND LOADED COAL TRAIN, CNRBW-10 STRUCK THE REAR END OF
THE 2CNAAE-10, DERAILING THE LEAD TWO UNITS AND THE REAR DPU UNIT ON THE
2CNAAE-10, UP 8088.
ESTIMATE 30 ALUMINUM CARS DERAILED
IN A PILE, 50 TO 60 FEET CLEAR OF THE BNSF MAIN.
THE TWO
LOADED COAL TRAINS WERE EASTBOUND ON THE NO 2 TRAK AND A WESTBOUND ON
NO 1 TRACK, EMPTY COAL TRAIN CPAWE-13 WAS HIT BY CARS AND DEBRIS AND
WAS DERAILED ALSO. THE CREWS ARE OK ON THE CPAWE-13 AND
2CNAAE-10.
THE CREW ON THE STRIKING TRAIN, CNRBW-10 WERE
INJURED. THE CONDR WAS TAKEN TO A HOSPITAL VIA AMBULANCE, IN SHOCK
AND POSSIBLE RIB INJURIES. THE FEMALE ENGINEER HAD TO BE
EXTRACTED FROM THE UNIT WITH COAL AND DEBRIS ON HER LEGS, AND WAS LIFE
FLIGHTED TO THE HOSPITAL. THERE ARE NO LIFE THREATENING
INJURIES.
PACIFIC, MISSOURI, FIRE AND POLICE DEPT WERE ON
SCENE, THE FIRE DEPT PUT OUT A SMALL DIESEL FIRE FROM THE DERAILMENT. THIS
COULD BE AT SAND ROAD CROSSING.

1015 AM. CALLED FOR 1017 PM FOR 1145 PM ON THE MKCAS AND THEN SWAPPED TO
THE COAL TRAIN WITH 12 HOURS AND 2 MINUTES UNDISTURBED REST. SHOWS
SAME FOR THE CONDR WHO IS A ST LOUIS CONDR OFF THE EXTRA BOARD.
BOTH MAIN TRACKS ARE BLOCKED WITH THE CARS.
HEAVY
TRACK DAMAGE, AND THE 3 TURNED OVER UNITS. 2 UNITS HAVE HOLES IN
THE FUEL TANKS AND THERE ARE TANKS ENROUTE TO EMPTY THESE.
ALL OF THE ALUMINUM CARS HAVE 1991 DATES AND ARE HEAVILY
DAMAGED. THE HIGHWAY IS BLOCKED OFF BY THE POLICE.
