Gujarat has achieved remarkable progress in the fields of trade-commerce and production.  All Gujaratis deserve congratulations for this.   Gujarat is poised to face the challenges of 21st century.  During the last year the popular Government has opened new vistas of development.  The state is marching towards globalisation by preserving its own tradition. 

  The ports of Gujarat are being face lifted for trade and commerce.

  Important roads are converted into four lanes for speedy and safe good transport.

The Law commmission has undertaken the task of changing old laws.

  On the Golden Jubilee of Independence, Gujarat has treaded a new path by handing over "Nagrik Adhikar              Patras" -(Citizens' Charter)

  Works of Development are carried out without any new tax in the budget by utilizing minerals and human resources and gearing up administrative machinery.

  Gujarat is on forefront of Industrial development in the country.  Intech Mart - 98 was organized with a              view to get the benefits of global technology for the Industries of the state.

  Special emphasis has been given to 1.5 crore people living below the poverty line.   Special schemes have               been implemented for them.  Adivasis have been given the rights for minor minerals.

  Concerted efforts are on to ensure that every child gets education, increase opportunities for vocational              education and to equip the schools with facilities.

  Villages are turned into "Gokul Grams" by providing primary amenities. And the Information Tech-               nology has been adopted for the development of infrastructural facilities  for communication.

  Amidst constant efforts of development, we are also vigilant to preserve our glorious cultural heritage.

  Every hand gets work, every field gets water, every industry gets incentives, every village turns into               "Gokul Gram" - is the goal of our Development
