CHILDREN TALK LIKE YOU!

"Speech is silvern, silence is gold" This is the golden key towards success. Learning to speak right from the beginning is one of the greatest steps in child’s development. It is the biggest hurdle and a common problem that is faced in today’s education system. Most of the English medium school children are not able to speak in English and children themselves are aware of their language flaws. Children are found to immitate and they imbibe the values instilled in them by their elders. The primary schooling are the most important years when a child is influenced by his surroundings, intelligence, sight and so on. In the beginning, the child’s world is his parent and teachers and so, it is important that they fashion the speech of the child. Free souls dives into the wisdom to fashion the speech of the child by what you do, how you do and by what you are. For all this, the elders have to:

1. Stimulate the child from the very beginning to talk and when he is in the mood for such stimulation.
2. Give the child a motive to talk. The child may use gestures, gradually speak the words that has build his vocabulary. Encourage him to speak and avoid his gestures lest he refrain from speaking.
3. Fill the world full of meaning. Opportunities and experiences provided to child will make him see clearly and the child would bubbly wish to narrate his say.
4. Fill in the child’s world with excitement and see his interests. The enthusiasm is alive within him which makes his environment alive. Sounds and words are a form of play, one of the most exciting game in childhood years. Let the child explore the words and encourage him to learn new words too.
5. Let the child participate in small conversations and ask him frequent questions. Provide answers where he is held up without his knowledge and his grasping becomes fast. Allow open debating with the child too.
6. Let the child listen. You can be a good model, play songs, narrate stories. Involve him.
7. Speech thrives out of expression of love. Showing care and love will make the child confident.
