Welcome
This project
is mainly for those who didn't know waht is Mamak and to those who are
interested and want to know in detail about Mamak. This is the right place
for you to do so.
It's been more than
30 years since the first mamak stall opened in the streets of Malaysia.
Like all businesses it started out pretty slow without the wonderful facilities
we have now. Just imagine if you have to set up a food stall without a
roof to shield it from the pouring rain and the glaring sunshine. It was
built with wood freshly cut from a tree. We had to use the water was obtained
from a stream nearby which might be contaminated by sewagefrom the villagers
who live upstream. You will definitely find that it is very hard to continue
this business.
The Mamak is unique and very different from other restaurants or stalls.
It sells only hot and spicy food .It has a variety of food and drinks like,
roti canai, roti tissue, roti planta, roti sardine, roti pisang, teh tarik,
etc.
To foreigners or those
who are unfamiliar with hot and spicy food, the taste may be intolerable.
But to those who love hot and spicy food they will find the mamak food
heavenly and distinctly captivating. The teh tarik drinks produced by Mamak
really taste different.
If you ever have the
opportunity to visit Malaysia. It is a good idea trying mamak food for
breakfast, lunch, tea time, dinner or supper. Once you try it you will
love it forever. Because they are open for 24 hours a day, "Mamak" represents
the heart and soul of Malaysia people around the world know about our country
for its tallest building, the Petronas Twin Towers its beautiful, airport.
