TOO BUSY

We painted pictures in school today
The teacher hung mine on the wall
She said I might be a great artist someday
And my picture was the best of all

I asked if I could take it home
‘Cause I wanted you to see
Bur when I got home, you were much too busy
You didn’t have time for me

Busy, busy, much too busy
Too busy to see
Busy, busy—oh, so busy
Too busy for me

I went in my room and I sat on the bed
And threw my picture on the floor
I was getting real mad, I was feeling so sad
But then you knocked on my door

I picked up the picture and I dusted it off
And I held it for you to see
But you just asked me to go to the store
You were still too busy for me

Busy, busy, much too busy
Too busy to see
Busy, busy—oh, so busy
Too busy for me

A little while later I was having some fun
Playing with my dinosaur
You came to my room and you said you were sorry
That you were too busy before

You looked at my picture and you hung it on the wall
For everyone to see
You said it’s terrific and I felt real good
You weren’t too busy for me

Busy, busy, much too busy
Too busy to see
Busy, busy—oh, so busy
Too busy for me
