girlfriend in Prisoner of Azkaban, but he won’t get to help decide who plays
her.
The
casting director for Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban is Jina Jay.
Just a little side note, JK Rowling has confirmed that Cho Chang will play a
larger role in the future books.
All right, it's time to do some serious clearing up
with all of the Cho Chang rumours. According to www.chochang.com

Melissa Kwak:
Her real name is Melissa Daniella Kristy
Gloria Amethyst Sally Drew Anne Kwak.
(What a mouthful!). Warner Brothers are
indeed making a contract for Melissa, but it is NOT for Harry Potter. But
they are willing to negotiate altering her contract if she gets the role of Cho
Chang. It is confirmed that Melissa Kwak is indeed in contact with Daniel
Radcliffe, and that they happen to be close friends. TVB Weekly have printed
that she MAY have been his former "puppy crush. (She claimed to have
Dan’s private e-mail address on a message board, so that may figure.)
She is a British-born Korean actress who is very popular in Korea, although she has also doe American movies, and has been featured in many shows. I heard that has a dual citizenship with the UK and Australia. When she was in Australia, she lived in Sydney. Raised in England until she was 10 years old, and has an upper class Oxford accent. She is Korean, brown hair, brown eyes and fair skin. She has been in many Korean, as well as English movies. She is also a model for the clothesline, Fubu. She's 12 years old and attends PROPS performing school in England. She is currently in Australia, filming for the second Matrix movie as a stunt artist. Camilla Belle (Routh): Camilla Belle is not in the running to play Cho anymore. It's true that she was offered the role, but she chose to go to college instead. She was born on 2nd October (same day as me!), 1986 in California, making her 16 and a half. She lives in Los Angles. She has light hazel eyes and brown hair. This is a link to her official site. Sarah-Lee: Sarah Lee was born on 21st August, 1985, making her 17. I read in a Harry Potter forum that said that Sarah Lee is not in the running to play Cho Chang anymore. In the forum, it said that Sarah Lee is 5'6", so she's too tall and that's what kept her from getting the part. She's 16 and lives in Sussex and is currently attending Hastings Stage Studio, a dancing school in Sussex. She lives with her English parents, but her grandparents were Chinese. She has German and British blood in her, and Chinese blood traced back to her ancestors. She went to Hastings Stage School with Nina Ermin. She weighs about 44kg, and is 163cm tall with size 6 feet. She has blue-green eyes and dark blonde hair. She is a model.

Teresa Te isn't in the running to play Cho Chang according to K-Zone (an
Australian magazine), although there have been rumours saying that she is.
Katlin Brooke Mandrake:
Kaitlin Mandrake is 15 and 5'8. She's not on the list of possibilities for Cho
Chang. She is taller than Daniel Radcliffe, therefore cannot qualify for the
role. She is not going for the
part of Cho Chang, and she is not a ‘friend’ of Daniel Radcliffe’s. Katlin
has very little to do with Harry Potter. She has never set foot in Leavesdon
Studios and has never been to one of the set locations.
But her dad is American/Thai, and her mom is British/Brazilian. She's
also a part time model.
Nina Ermin: Nina Ermin is definitely going for the role. She is a British-Asian girl who has appeared in two Indie films. Nina went to Hastings Stage School with Sarah Lee. Her father is Russian; her mother is (supposedly) Oriental. I think she is 12.

Rozette Diaz: Rozette Diaz starred in numerous school plays. She also played the part of the Lakebay Muskier Concert at the AFP Theatre and Retro Ville in the PMG Auditorium. Rumours say that she may live in the Philippines.

Kristin Laura Kreuk: Too bad she is too old (born 12th November 1982, making her 20, although age didn’t stop Shirley Henderson!), and not a UK resident (she lives in Vancouver, Canada). Most people know her from Smallville as Lana Lang. Her mother, Deanna, is Chinese, and her father, Peter, is Dutch. She is 5ft 4in, and has a 13-year old sister. Her favourite colours are purple and yellow, and her favourite actress is Jodie Foster, and she enjoys watching Friends, Third Watch and ER on the TV. She went to Eric Hambler High School in Vancouver. She is a dancer and a gymnast.

Vanessa Ellen Lin: She's 15 years old. Vanessa
is Taiwanese, but was born in Japan. The girl has been in many Chinese/Japanese
movies, also part of WB in Taiwan. Her agent has been contacting Karen-Lindsay
for her to get the part, but Karen told her that she's not the casting director
for PoA and "no one does for now, because they're not even decided if they going
to make the 3rd movie or not." But then J.K. Rowling came to her office, saw her
picture, and said that 'She's a little bit like how I imagined Cho, but we'll
see if they decide to make the 3rd movie. So, they put a contact on her, but
they still aren’t sure whether she’s on the shortlist, even though the film
is definetely now being made. She still lives in
Taiwan, but says she’ll move to London if she gets the part. She speaks
Chinese, English, Japanese and a bit of French.

Sally Madani: Warner Brothers wants her to fly all the way to UK (she lives in Canada) to audition. Also heard that they are planning on buying her air ticket if she doesn't want to go. She was born on 5th October 1989 in Canada, and is 12. She weighs 5 stone, and has medium brown hair and eyes. She is another model.

Jolin Choi: She was originally a model for a clothesline in China. Then someone
contacted her and said that they would like to meet her in person. Afterward,
she became a singer, but didn't really make it in Asia. Her new album,
"Don't Stop" didn't sale very well in Asia. She was born on 15th
September 1980, making her 22 (a bit old?). I think she lives in Hong Kong. She
is 158cm tall, weighs 43kg and has dark brown hair and eyes.

Autumn Amber Lavender Norris: I know I’m not meant to be biased, but I don’t think she could possibly end up being Cho. I mean, she looks more like Britney, than the way that Cho is portrayed! Perhaps she could be Fleur, but then again, maybe not! I've also heard that her boyfriend or ex-boyfriend is Tom Felton, although I doubt this. Umm...she seems a bit older than 11 to me. I'm not really sure if this is her picture though, you see, this isn’t an easy job! Anyway, she was born on 29th January 1991 (?) making her 11 (? -or 1987 according to someone else, making her 15!). She weighs 75lbs and is 5ft 1in tall. She has dark brown eyes and brown hair with blonde highlights. She is Scottish-American. This could be her site?!

Rozanna Plung Anh Ngyuyen: She lives in Sussex. She played the lead role in seven TV shows and productions, and has been in over forty commercials. She played Josephine Leung in the movie Dancing in the Paradise starring with "Oona Chandler". She was offered the role of Truce in BBC's Princess of Russia. Rozanna is a symbol trademark for CAMEO. It has also been rumoured (this is getting less and less reliable by the second!) that she's going to be in a movie co-starring with Reese Witherspoon and Matt Damon. Someone said that Rozanna is also a finalist in this Australian magazine model competition. She was born on 14th January 1988 (although I think she looks older than that), and is 14 She lives in Sussex, England. She weighs 41kgs, and is 5ft 5in (that’s shorter than Dan, so far, so good). She has dark brown eyes and black hair. She is Vietmanese, and is an actress and model. Apparently she was an extra on 7th Heaven.

Kwon Boa: This Korean Pop Sensation has apparently already been casted as Cho Chang (! So what am I writing all this for then?). She looks really pretty and is like the Cho I imagined while reading the book... but I hear that she can't speak English too well. That could be a problem, especially if they film Goblet of Fire.

BOA IN "HARRY POTTER 3"?
The Korean singer Kwon BoA is according to rumors for the
role of the "Chang" in the third "Harry Potter" film in the
discussion its! In the book "Harry Potter" slams itself a little into
the Sucherin of the "Ravenclaw" crew. According to "Coming Soon
"reported the magazine" Seventeen Indonesia ", those Singer is
with an attendance in London, where her with one Appearance of the group of
"Westlife" participated, asked, whether it interest in a small role in
"Harry Potter 3" has.

words, she was asked to play Cho after performing with Westlife, although
apparently hasn't answered either way...well the singing with Westlife figures,

1. Cho Chang has to be shorter than Harry because in Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, on page 259, paragraph 2, it says that she is "shorter than Harry by about a head."

FACTS ABOUT THE CHO CASTING:
1. Cho can be played by any girl with any type of oriental heritage because the name Cho is a Japanese, and Chang is either Taiwanese or Chinese.
2.
According to BBC news, they haven't found a Cho Chang yet. I would definitely
trust this because BBC is never wrong, and they're a trustworthy news source. As
far as I've heard, they're only looking for Asian girls who live in the U.K., or
has a U.K. citizenship. But you can try sending your stuff to them, cause it
never hurts to try.
3.
