The Strategic Naval Gunnery game and all of its updates and new versions are a free complimentary privilege for all HSR Club Members. When you join the HSR Club, our vendor will immediately download your initial release of SNG.
Your HSR Club membership application fee pays for the club activities that support your membership. See the [SNG Box Upper Side] page for more details of the HSR Club membership fee.
WARNINGS and Checklist to consider before joining the HSR Club
- Please be aware that HSR can not offer refunds of the HSR Club membership fee.
- HSR can not support the use of a single copy of SNG on more than one of your systems, unless you make special arrangements with HSR (See additional discussions of these policies in the [SNG Box Right Side] page.)
- Please consider carefully the SNG system requirements in the [SNG Box Lower Side] page. Firewalls and potentially conflicting programs are also discussed.
- In order to run SNG you must have a unique and non-generic system User Name. (See additional details at the [SNG Box Lower Side] page.) Contact HSR if you are unsure about your User Name. Be especially careful about this if your are running a potentially conflicting system security program.
- If you violate the HSR Club rules or the SNG License, you must agree to HSR being able to make the final decision about your membership standing. HSR Club membership requirements are discussed on the [SNG Box Upper Side] page.
We fully expect that you will be satisfied with your HSR Club membership; however, it is possible that there could be rare cases of as yet unseen difficulties. So far, SNG has been installed successfully on hundreds of systems. In fact, SNG has never yet failed to install on any system. However, some systems may require special assistance from HSR or might need the member to modify some unusual system component.
We have done our best to present the features, capabilities and requirements of SNG at this site and in the SNG Forum.
It is your responsibility to consider all of this and decide if HSR Club membership will be enjoyable for you. It is your ultimate responsibility to accept the risk of SNG not being able to run on your system. Please send HSR a note or (even better) post your concern at the SNG Forum if you have any doubts. Our HSR Club members should be able to help you out.
Your one-time membership application fee of $104 pays for all of your service needs as long as you remain an HSR Club member in good standing.
Click [here] to go to the HSR vendor where you can make your HSR membership fee payment and have SNG downloaded to you. When you join the HSR Club, our vendor will send you an email with download instructions for getting SNG. Have your email manager opened to receive it within seconds. Look for an email from paulshaff@aol.com with a subject line of 'SWREG - Receipt'. Save that email.
It is very important that you read the downloaded readme.rtf file for installation instructions and for assistance in submitting your system User Name to HSR.
SNG Installation:
SNG installation and startup instructions are in the SNG readme file, which is included in the SNG zipped document file. Follow those instructions and for more detail on the SNG installation process. A brief guide for SNG installation is:
1. Open the SNG zip file downloaded to you by our vendor with WinZip. The name of this file is similar to hsr_sng???box.zip. This zipped file contains both the SNG documentation zipped file and the SNG Installation zipped file.
2. To activate the WinZip ‘Install’ button, you must extract and open the hsr_sng???.zip file.
3. The most convenient installation is to use the 'Install' button in WinZip.
4. InstallShield will ask you on the install 'User Information' page for a program product ID named 'Serial'. You just enter any number here. HSR does not use this InstallShield feature.
Please don't forget to save the original new membership version of SNG and latest SNG upgrade in case you need to recover SNG from a lost or new system.
