Evolutions - What's That??? The evolution competition is a series of four timed races. In each race the firefighters must hook up fire hoses to whatever water source is provided (hydrant, truck, etc) and maneuver the hoses into position in order to knock down a series of targets.

The Hudson team had the second best time for three of the races, and finished third in the other. These finishes gave Hudson the highest overall score, allowing them to defeat second-place Beresford, third-place Fort Pierre, and seven other teams. The Hudson team also won the Walker Memorial Traveling Trophy for the second year in a row. This trophy is awarded to the team that receives the fewest penalties during the competition.
