    James Mason Odneal was born Apr. 2 1844, in Moniteau Co., MO. He served in the Confederate Army Co. D of the 9th MO Cavalary, known as Elliotts Regement, during the Civil War. Although only 17 at the start of the war he served from 1861-1865. He appears on a prisoner of War roll for Company's C D & E of 9th Elliotts Regiment Missouri Volunteer Calavery, Confererate States Army, Commanded by Capt. Davenport surrendered at New Orleans, LA by Gen. E. K. Smith, C. S. A. to Maj. Gen. E. R. S. Canby U S Army, May 26, 1865 & paroled at Shreveport, LA June 14, 1865. Residence given as Cooper Co., MO.
    Sept 12, 1867 he married Wilmeth Enyart and they moved to Texas for a short time where their only child, Mary Lou, was born. They returned to Missouri by 1873 and Wilmeth also died about this time, either in Texas or Missouri. This may be the reason for James return to Missouri.

MARY LOU ODNEAL

     Mary Lou was born Feb. 13, 1870 the only child of James and Wilmeth. The census states her place of birth as Texas but her obitutary lists Ozark Twp, MO. She married Grant Brennan Nov. 27, 1892. They moved to Kansas City, MO about 1900. She died March 12, 1944 in Irwin, MO and is buried at Lake Cemetery, Irwin, MO. It is not known what Grant's occupation was, where he died or is buried.
    They had no children.

    On Feb. 9, 1873 James married Elizabeth Betty Enyart (Wilmeth's sister). James was listed as a farmer in the 1880 Missouri census and lived most of his remaining life around Lamar, Barton Co., MO. He died April 10, 1916 andBetty died July 25, 1949, both in Choteau, OK and both are buried in Choteau, OK.
    They had eleven children.

WILLIAM LEE ODNEAL


 


    William was born March 31, 1874, in Lamar, MO. He married Myrtle April 10, 1895. His wifes name is also listed as Grace. It is not known if Myrtle and Grace are the same person or not. He was a member of the I. O. O. F. in Duenweg, MO. He died Aug. 16, 1942 and is buried in Cartervill Cemetery, Carterville, MO. William had four children, Reba (1896-1897), Pauline (1899-1899), unnamed infant (1900-1908) and a son Raymond born 1909. It is not known when Raymond died but William' obitutary only lists his widow Grace and no children. It is not known where any of the children, wife (wives) are buried.
 


VOLLIE A. ODNEAL

    Vollie A. Odneal was born Feb. 7, 1876 in Lamar, MO. He married Harriett Edwards Oct. 9, 1899 in California, MO.  Vollie's occupation was listed as an engineer. He died Oct 2, 1943 at Commerce, OK. Harriett died July 8, 1961 in Miami, OK. They are both buried at Miami, OK
     They had two children.

EVA Y. ODNEAL

    Eva was born Nov. 19, 1877 in MO. She married a man named Epperson(some relationship to Jim Myrtle's husband) and lived in Stuttgart, AR.  It is believedEva died before 1945. Nothing more is known about this family at this time.
    They had at least two daughters.

VIOLA MAY ODNEAL

    Viola May was born April 13, 1879 in MO. She married Edward Geigley Sept. 12, 1905 in Arkansas. She died Aug. 2, 1952 in Green Ridge, MO and Edward died in Dec. 1973, they are both buried in Green Ridge Cemetery, Green Ridge, MO. Ed was a farmer near Green Ridge, MO.
     They had two children.

JESSIE P. ODNEAL

    Jessie was born July 2, 1881 in MO. He married Emma Schneider about 1903.
    They had two daughters.

    They were divorced by 1920 and Jessie married Sophia.
    They had one daughter.

BETTY LOUISE ODNEAL

    They divorced and Jessie married a last time to a lady named Minerva. Nothing is know about any living descendants although all three daughters are believed to have married. Betty Louise had a daughter named Melody but nothing more is known. Jessie died Oct. 21, 1966 but it is not known where he is buried.
 


HARRY JAMES ODNEAL

    Harry was born July 28, 1883 in MO. He married Jennie Sept. 4, 1904. Harry had a Texaco Service Station in Frederick, OK and his granddaughter, Joyce, remembers going down there as a child. Jenny died July 16, 1950 and Harry in Dec 1964, both in Fredrick, OK and are both buried in Frederick, OK, the cemetery name is not known..

    Mary Alice was born Feb. 21, 1885 in Larmar, MO. She died Nov. 20, 1887 in Larmar, MO and is also buried there.
 


FREDRICK CLEVLAND ODNEAL

    Frederick Cleveland (Cleve)was born Sept. 13, 1887. He married Rose Ellen King Nov. 24, 1907.  He died Sept 18, 1940 and Rose died in 1962. They both diedin Miami, OK and are buried at the Miami Cemetery in Miami, OK.
    They had three children.

    Bertie was born Feb. 18, 1889 in MO. She married a man named Shover and they had one child. She died May 19, 1912 in New Mexico and is buried in the Choteau Cemetery, Choteau, OK under the name Odneal.. Nothing more is known about any children or husband at this time.
 


MYRTLE ODNEAL

    Myrtle was born June 20, 1891 in MO. She married three times 1st Jim Epperson, 2nd Ralph Brenninger and 3rd Frank Scroggins. There were no known children from any of these marriages.
 


ROY M. ODNEAL

Roy

    Roy M. ODNEAL was born Sept. 7, 1893 in Lamar, MO. He married Susie ROBBINS July 5, 1916 in Choteau, OK. He was a Mechanic and Highway construction superintendant. He died Feb. 14, 1958 and Susie died Jan. 13, 1989 both in Choteau, OK and both are buried at the Choteau Cemetery, Choteau, OK.
    They had two children.
