MAHALE BLAKELY

    Most of this information is from Billie Helton, wife of Sydnie Helton a descendant of Mahala and Jessie through their daughter Maria.

    Mahala was born 1815 in Washington Co., TN.  On July 24, 1832 she married Jessie C. Wallace also in Washington Co., TN.  They had seven children.

    Born about 1835 in TN.

THOMAS F. WALLACE

    Born about 1837, married Eliza and living in Greene Co., TN at the time of the 1860 census.
 

MATHEW B. WALLACE

    Born about 1839 in Washington Co., TN.

CYNTHIA JANE WALLACE

    Cynthia was born March 26, 1842 in TN and moved to TX with the Heltons.  On Sept 10, 1882 she married William “Bill” FLIPPEN in Fayette Co., TX.  She died March 12, 1920 in TX and is buried in the Byler Cemtery near Muldoon, TX.  It is not believed she had any children.

MELISSA MALINDA ANN WALLACE

    Born 1845 in TN.  On Feb. 27, 1868 in Greene Co., TN she married Thomas King.  She died in 1869 and is buried in New Providence Cemetery.

 MARIAH BRUNETTE WALLACE

    Maria was born in April 1846.  She married James Frederick Helton Dec. 26, 1873 in Washington Co., TN by Rev. J. W. Bowne.  Mariah died in the fall of 1880.  She is buried in Pine Springs Cemetery, Old Oso Methodis Episcopal Church South,near Black Jack Springs, Fayette Co., TX.  Jim never remarried and died Aug. 27, 1900 and is buried in Byler Cemetery near Muldoon, TX.
    They had three children;

LURA/LAURI AUGUSTA HELTON

    Her name is spelled many ways but Lura is the spelling on her tombstone.  She was born Nov. 27, 1874.  She was married three times.  First on Dec. 31, 1890 to Dan SAWYER.  They had one son;
JOHN SAWYER
    John was born in Feb. 1892 near Muldoon, TX.  He may have married Katherine HARRIS but nothing more is known.
 

     Lura's second marriage was to Ernest FLECK on Dec. 29, 1896 in Fayette Co., TX.  They had three children;
 

  NETTIE ANN FLECK
    Nettie was born Feb. 15, 1898.  On Oct. 15, 1913 she married Jesse Pilney BYLER and they ahd eight children.  Jesse died Nov. 23, 1955 and on Dec. 1, 1977 she married Charles Richard FLECK.
  BENJAMIN FRANKLIN HELTON
    Benjamin was born Dec. 3, 1876 in Washington Co., TN.  On April 7, 1898 he married Lisa Ann DAVIS at her parents home near Muldoon, TX.  They had 12 children.
THOMAS MATTHEW “TUT” HELTON
    Tut was born Sept. 12, 1878 most likely near Black Jack Springs, TX.  On Feb. 28, 1900 he married Minnie Lee PLUMMER in Bastrop Co., TX.  Tut was a bank guard at Union National Bank at the time of his death.  He is buried at Forest Park Cemetery, Houston, TX.  They had three children.

     Lura was widowed and her third marriage was to Charles Fleck.
 

MARY WALLACE

    Mary was born about 1852 in Washington Co., TN.  She married Frank Tennessee Thompson.  They were living in Texas in Nov. 1879 when their first child James M. was born.  In Dec. 1881 their second child Kattie was born.  When their  third child Ida Belle was born April 24, 1885 they were living in MO.  In the 1900 Henry Co. census they had six children and all were still at home.  Frank’s occupation was a farmer and worked on the Rail Road.  The location or date of either of their deaths are known.

JAMES M. THOMPSON

    James was born in Nov. 1879 in TX.  He married Phoebe (unknown last name) and they had two children.  James is listed as a farmer in the 1920 Henry Co., MO census.

KATTIE THOMPSON

    Kattie was born Dec 1881 in TX, nothing more is known of her.

IDA BELLE THOMPSON

    Ida was born April 24, 1885 in MO.  She died Sept. 11, 1865 at her nieces in Riverside, MO.  The following is her obituary from the Sept. 14, 1965 Clinton Eye.

    Miss Ida Belle Thompson, 80, formerly of 306 West Allen, died unexpectedly of a heart attack on Sept. 12 at the home of her niece, Mrs. Mary Reams, Riverside in suburan Kansas City.
Funeral Services will be conducted by Rev. Robert Vance at 2:00 pm Wed., Sept. 15 at Consalus Funeral Home.  Internment will be in the Calhoun Cemetery, Calhoun, MO.
Surviving beside the niece is a sister, Mrs. Nannie George, Lewiston, ID.

MAMIE THOMPSON

    Mamie was born March 1887 in MO.  Nothing more is known.

FRANK THOMPSON

    Frank was born Jan. 1890 in MO.  He married Hattie Shook in 1909 and they were living with Hattie’s mother, Dora, at the time of the 1910 Henry Co., MO census.  His occupation was listed as a coal miner.

NANCY THOMPSON

     From Ida’s obituary we learn Nancy married a George and was living in Idaho Sept. 14, 1965.
