Ruben the ghost...Twin Falls Idaho

My story begins in our newly rented house of not more than 3 months . I was laying in bed watching TV with my husband when we decided it was lights out time as I had to get up with the kids in the morning and he had to work . I got up went down the hall from my room to the bathroom something I do quite frequently at night .I then went back in to my room laid down and turned off the TV . By this time my husband was asleep . Typical man hit the pillow and he's out.

Any way, I was laying there in bed when I got this really weird feeling like I was being watched . I looked up to see a figure standing in my door way . It was a man, he was transparent but was in jeans and a black and red checkered flannel shirt . He had long dark hair but his face was dark . There were no features there . I froze and sat there looking at this man in my bedroom doorway . I was terrified . All I could think was who was this and how was I going to get past him to my kids .

While looking this man in the face that wasn't there I reached over to wake my hubby shaking him to wake him . He's a hard sleeper . Any way, just as my husband starts to stir I'm telling him to please wake up there is something in the room the figure disappears before my very eyes. Well that just freaked me more than him being there .

I told my husband once he's coherent what has happened . He of course thinks I'm NUTS. Till a few days later I was talking to my neighbor and told her what had happened ,she pops off with "OH you've met Ruben . he's the ghost who lives in your house and only appears to women and kids . All the neighbors before you have seen Ruben . The women anyway .

Well Ruben became a constant fixture in the house . He loved the back bedroom where the laundry room was and a 2nd bathroom and our daughters room . He would hang out there and on more than one occasion my oldest daughter and I had run ins with him in the hall way there , he loved to walk up on us and make us stop dead in our tracks , then he would disappear . The back bathroom where he hung out was always really cold even in the summer when the rest of the house was hot . You couldn't always see him but you could feel him . my dogs hated going in those back rooms with me but I would make them go with me and lock them in with me. Being 30 yrs old I felt kind of dumb but hey, he was freaky .

One of his favorite tricks to pull were turning the front bathroom light on and off, which would shine right into my room when on . I spent many a night playing turn off the lights with him . He would also play with the ringer on the phone and make it ring to change the tones . He did that to me quite often . I'd hear the phone usually when I was busy and I would stop what I was doing and go answer the phone only to find no one on the other end . He stopped scaring me after the 3rd time he stood in my bedroom doorway because I would get mad at him for watching me try to sleep . It got to the point where I would yell at him to stop his games and he would for awhile till he got bored .

He terrified my son more than once though by going into his room at night and watching him too . My son was only 5 at the time. It got to the point I would have to tell Ruben every night to leave my son alone and not scare him . He was pretty scary at times . The house is still there although we moved out 3 yrs. ago and has had only one other family in there since us , I drove by there yesterday and seen it was empty again . Did Ruben scare away the other tenants ? We may never know.

This story is absolutely true and happened in Twin Falls, Idaho. So BEWARE WHERE YOU RENT YOU JUST MAY MEET RUBEN.
