CASSIE WAS ADOPTED APRIL 22, 2001!

Cassie's new friend asked a very important question:
Cassie loves to go on long walks and she is very sweet.  I was just wondering what year she was born, what month, and what day...so we could have parties for her, like we did with our other dogs.
Our suggestion:
Cassie was picked up as a stray by the shelter so we don't know when her birthday is but I can tell you what some people do.  We are guessing Cassie is about 1 1/2 years old.  You can then use the day you adopted her to count her birthday.  So, for example, we think Cassie is about 1 1/2.  You could say her birthday is October 22, 1999, which would make her 1 1/2 now, and you could already be celebrating in just 6 months!
The final verdict:
That's a good idea!  So her birthday is now October 22, 1999.  I just got back from taking Cassie for another long walk...she is a good running partner.  Now I have somebody to run with every day!  She really is a great dog.

CASSIE'S STORY:
Cassie is around 1 1/2 years old and weighs 40 pounds.  She has the most unique looking salt and pepper fur.  She is a very sweet and loving dog and wants nothing more than to have someone to love her.  Cassie was somewhat apprehensive about getting into a car but once in, she sat very quietly and is an excellent passenger.  The first day in foster care she was pretty apprehensive about everything (like stairs, going into her crate) but once she experiences something for the first time, she is fine from that point on.  She now races up and down stairs and is already sitting in her crate before we even tell her to go in.  She gets along well with other dogs and is fine with cats.
In the pictures below you will notice a bald spot on Cassie's neck.  At the time she was spayed, she had a lump removed which turned out to be a harmless cyst:
Cassie is immediately drawn to doggie beds and she enjoys chewing on dog approved items such as rawhides, cow ears, stuffed toys and sticks.
