When NBC held it's "Who's the Daddy" Campaign in 2000, the fans didn't want either contender -- Stefano or John -- to be the father of Hope's baby. John won the vote in the end, but diehard Bo and Hope fans couldn't stand the notion of John and Hope sharing a son. When Paula Cwikly and Peter Brash were installed as head writers in December of 2001, they rewrote history to undo the unpopular decision made by the former writers. Within six weeks, John learned that he was not the father of Hope's baby. Five months later, Bo and Hope learned that they had slept together while he was under mind control, and it was then that Zack was conceived.
