Duh Meeting

Hi all,

Many of you will wonder what this is. If you can't figure out -- its the minutes for you *grin*. The facts that I'm hardpressed for time and in a wacky mood combined forces and the following is what came out as I sat down with my keynboard. As you will notice I not at my creative best, my attentions being taken up by something, somewhere else....so there. (Remember, I asked someone else to do it ;-)

In a summer-time of rain and fever,
Many people gave the meeting a miss,
Some who couldn't turn up said they were sorry,
The others didn't bother a bit. :)

The meeting started rather late....
Having waited for Dr. Ray at the Gate,
We waited as well for any other to come,
But no one came, the weather was such a dump.

Ooh! but I forget -- Ketan did,
But he almost gave it a miss.
So in the end there were eight of us,
Who couldn't manage to miss the bus :)
We missed the tea on this occasion,
As old Pundit'ji was out-of -station.

The meeting was a good one, if I may say
As Rajarshi dug into the guts of X,
With protocols, libraries, toolkits and widgets,
So interesting, X is really a very neat set.

It was such an interesting talk.
We were sorry when it had to stop.
Much to the delight of us all,
Rajarshi has promised to carry it on.
But, it will be July before he can do so,
With exams ahead, he has to cram you know.

Partha'da seemed eager to take on X,
But confessed that having forgotten C,
At present he is more comfortable with his TeX.
He plans to take the TK route,
As thats what he thinks will best suit.

We ohed and aahed on X books from O'Reilly,
But the damper was that prices are too high really.

Indra spoke about IP_Masqing and proxying,
Of pros and cons -- and techniques involved.
A demo here would have been really interesting,
And a lot of people's problem would be solved.

Considering that so few of us were present,
The sum of 1700 rupees collected
Towards domain registration was rather decent.
The rest are yet to pay it up,
And they better make it fast! :-)

Inigo -- the photographer of ILUG-Cal,
Came armed for a wildlife shoot.
There was a flash, but luckily no bang,
And eight penguins who thought they looked great, :)
Were frozen on an unwashed strip of Silver Nitrate.

The photograph from the last meeting was there to see,
But I have a grudge -- he almost missed me :)

So there for you all are the meeting's minutes, if you can call it so

With regards to all,
Indra.
