As one of eleven founding members of AACSB, the A.B. Freeman School of Business set the standards for business education in the United States. Continuously accredited since 1916, the Freeman School has consistently strived to meet the needs of the business community -- Locally, nationally, and internationally, by educating the leaders of today and tomorrow.

提起紐奧爾良市（New Orleans），聯想到的是爵士樂、黑人、和法國風情。提起杜蘭大學的Freeman School，聯想到的則是小巧友善、一般管理、和國際化。位於紐奧爾良市上城一處清一色維多利亞式的住宅區，環境清優高雅的現代化六層樓大廈中的 Freeman School，與紐奧爾良市一般擁有悠久的歷史和現代化的風貌。它是美國最老的 B- School、AACSB創始人之一，它的課程以國際管理（internation- al management）為重，它的學生有三分之一來自海外。

近年來Freeman School 仿效西北 Kellogg 的入學審核方式，每一位國內的申請者都要面試。而入學的本國學生中，百分之四十以上是南方子弟。西北的捐贈者 Kellogg 以製造和銷售早餐用的cereals致富，而此校的捐贈者Freeman，則是一位擁有路易斯安那州可口可樂經銷權的富豪。

為期兩年、四個學期的課程，每個學期都以一個 module開始。第一學期的五門必修課開始前，是為期十二天的 module one，以個案的方式討論一個經理人的職責（Job of an Executive），外加電腦技術訓練（computer skills）。第二個學期的五門必修課開始前，也有一個為期六天的module two，由紐奧爾良當地一個著名的執業律師，教授商業的各種面貌（business perspect- ives）。

第二年開始選修的課程。第三、第四個學期照例還是由module three（total quality management）和module four （leadership）揭開序幕。這裡提供一般管理課程，重視對管理的全方位瞭解，所以即便依據『教授專長』和『選修課性質』仍可區分出八、九個領域（fields of study），校方還是不鼓勵MBA學生選擇『主修領域』。

由於市場上景氣不佳，Freeman近年來在選修課中特別加強『職業生涯規劃』與『求職技巧』等方面的課程，這包括教學生寫履歷表（resume）、面試技巧（interview skills）、建立人脈（human resources networking）等等。這些實用性的課程大多以短期的module形式上課。

Freeman School目前只有三百名大學部學生和兩百五十名碩士班（MBA）學生。雖然每年畢業的學生不多，但由於歷史久遠，在全球各地累積的校友數目和網路還是十分可觀。目前Freeman MBA在全球各地的校友超過了三千五百人。傑出校友提攜後進，是Freeman MBA最主要的就業途徑之一。以職業的性質來看，一九九四年的畢業生進了財務與會計領域的佔了最多，分別在五分之一以上。其次則是一般管理。

Freeman MBA在就業時遇到最大的競爭對手是Vanderbilt Owen School與Emory B-School的畢業生。這三校在區域、課程、與名氣這三方面，都有極高的同質性。

The abroad programs made a tremendous difference in my education and, subsequently, in being hired by my company. International business is a matter of perspective, the devil is in the details. If you're not acquainted with how people work abroad on a daily basis, you're going to remain very much an outsider. The abroad programs at Freeman helped me bridge the gap.

I found the small class size to be very beneficial. We quickly became known as individuals, both among ourselves as well as among the faculty and staff. It enabled us to develop strong relationships while we were in school as well as after we graduated. That's definitely a plus because no one wants to be known as simply a number.

The general management curriculum taught at Tulane has been more powerful than I initially anticipated. I've been able to draw upon the various areas I have been taught. Instead of using only one tool kit, I step back and try to weigh things from a broader viewpoint and then I hone in on specifics. I think specific skill sets come from experience, but the broader perspective allows you to stay away from a narrow view and lets you see more of the big picture early on. For the $18,000 I spent in tuition yearly, I could have chartered a boat, sailed the world, and learned an incredible amount more than I did in Tulane's Freeman School.
