Issues
The
IRS cadre is going through a very difficult phase. We face a
multitude of problems. While the IRS is the second (and first)
choice of the latest entrants to the Civil Sevices, most of
those entering the Service are unaware of these problems. Their
choice is based on fundamentals : that the IRS is a premier
Cadre in any developed country and hence would only grow in
importance. But, the problems we face are hampering our efforts
to grow. Some of these problems are of our own making, while
those which are not, can be solved only by our efforts. I request
you all to suggest solutions to these problems and tell us as
to how you can contribute in mitigating them. These suggestions
would be displayed for your comments so that they may be perfected
and pursued by one and all. Written below is to start with, an
indicative list of the Issues faced by the IRS cadre :-
