W e e p i n g S i l e n c e

 

Weeping Silence are a Local Atmospheric Doom Metal band.  The first time I heard their music was on a local television station, and I took an immediate liking for them.  Then, after some time passed, I listened to a song of theirs found on the ARCH MUSIC COMPILATIONcalled Your Silence Still Echoes and it has become one of my favourite Doom songs ever!          The vocalist, Dino, is also the drummer of another Local Metal Band called LITHOMANCY.       Biography The Maltese band Weeping Silence was formed by Angelo Zammit and Mario Ellul in 1995. They aspired to form an athmospheric doom band.           They had a hard time to find the right members. After approximately two years, Raphael Grech, Mario Cilia and Dino Mifsud Lepre joined the band but they were still without a bassist. They began composing music in July 1997. Later on Alfred Burd joined as a bassist but he left the band in August 1999. In October 1999 he was replaced by Sinclair Calleja, but he too left the band later on.  Currently, Malcolm Callus is the session bassist for the band.              Weeping Silence compose atmospheric music with slow and depressive riffs, melodic acoustic guitars and mystic keyboards. These reflect their own lifestyle. The main subjects of the lyrics are the sad emotions of spoiled romanticism, being deprived from beloved persons and immense appreciation of nature’s beauty.          Weeping Silence recorded their first track Your Silence Still Echoes, on  the 8th of September 1998 and it was featured on a compilation CD.
