What's wrong with honey?
![]() |
Bees, believe it or not, are hurt to make honey. When you picture a beekeeper with a few hives in his backyard, you have the wrong image. Bees suffer from factory farming just as much as any other animal. Honey is a bee's food. They go to incredible lengths to make it. And we selfishly take it away from them. We replace their precious honey with unhealthy, sugary liquids. This, needless to say, is not good for the bees, but since bees' efficiency is not always compromised by poor nutrition, bee keepers feed them crud anyway.
When bees are being transported, colonies get split up. The handling is very rough, and many bees die. Queens live for up to five years, but they are replaced as often as every year! They are artificially inseminated too. This is probably the worst thing that happens. To get the male bee's sperm as easily as possible, beekeepers actually cut the head of the male bee off. There are many other issues with honey, which are too lengthy to discuss here, but is you would like more information, feel free to e-mail me at infynitie@hotmail.com and ask any questions.
