Love For a Child

Sesshou-maru walked down a hallway within his vastly huge fortress. His 
shoes made soft noises as they touched the marble floor.  He walked 
through the doorway on his right and there sitting on the bed was Rin, as 
soon as she saw him she got up and ran up to him.  She looked up at him 
 and smiled, Then she hugged him.
"Ses-sama I am so glad to see you…I don't get to see you 
very…often."  Sesshou-maru picked her up and hugged her.  Rin hugged back, she 
obviously enjoying this moment. Sesshou-maru smiled.
 "Rin has brought so much into my life…so many new emotions like 
     happiness and satisfaction about life… but it doesn't change my wanting of 
          the Tetsusaiga, I will do anything to get it. Yet with Rin here now she 
                seems for some reason my top priority, but how can I come to like this 
                child who I brought back from death for no reason…"
                   " You brought her back for a reason…" a voice inside Sesshou-maru's 
                head called.
                   " What reason is that?" he asked the voice inside his head.
                   " Isn't obvious Sesshou-maru… you care about her, maybe even LOVE 
                her."
                   " What are you implying by that comment?!"
                   " You're so stubborn… you don't want to admit you care about Rin in 
                some way. Sesshou-maru don't deny your feelings!  you care!  Admit it!"
                   " Who are you?  Tell me now!" Seeshou-maru screamed inside at the 
                voice.
                   " You want to know who I am?  Well let me tell you who I am, my 
                friend.  I'm your soul… I bet you forgot you even hade a soul you demon 
                bastard."  A shocked expression appeared on Sesshou-maru's face.  Rin 
                looked at him with a worried expression.
                   " Nani?  Ses-chan what's wrong?" she asked.
                   " Noth…Nothing Rin.  Its nothing." He replied.
                   " Sesshou-maru admit you care about her please!" the voice called 
                out.
                   " No." Sesshou-maru said to the voice in a cold harsh tone.
                   " Fine I will have to show you the hard way then." It said.  Images 
                suddenly flashed in front of Sesshou-maru's eyes.  They were clear as 
                day, yet they were only visible to him.  Pictures of when he had first 
                met Rin, back when she was bringing him food when he was hurt by that 
                fucking half-breed of a brother Inu-yasha.  Then when the wolves killed 
                her and he brought her back from death.  The days he had spent teach her 
                to speak and helping her forget humans for they were cruel.
                    "All those days, such a long time ago" he though to himself, then 
                it hit him.  He really did love her, like a father loves a daughter.  
                She was special to him and he would protect her like a wolf protects it's 
                pups.  She wouldn't come to any harm, especially if it was that fucking 
                Inu-yasha.  He would most of all keep her safe from the one thing he 
                hate most…Humans.  
                   " That shouldn't be to hard." He said to himself. " Demons never 
                show themselves to a human let alone its hardly willingly."
                   " Doesn't feel better now that you have admitted it Sesshou-maru?" 
                the voice said as it faded in a fate whisper then into nothing.
                   " Yes… I do feel better, now." He said softly.  Then he walked over 
                to the closet, set Rin down, and took out Rin's pink kimono, then 
                walked outside while she change.  She walked outside the doorway when she 
                finished.  He picked he up and walked to his chambers to spend some 
                quility time with his adopted musume (daughter).
