Power of Dreams
Chapter Two

(Kasey)
A pair of wise, green eyes stared at me from somewhere. A voice came from every direction saying, 
"Power of Dreams, awaken in this form you have taken and protect her until she is needed by letting her 
absorb the the attacks of her enimes along with her own abilites..." Then it spoke an incantation of some 
sort, though it sounded more like mumbling.
	A feeling ran down my body. I felt a sudden surge of energy well up within me. Power. It was 
power that I felt.
	"Awaken!" the voice said again.

At first I felt nothing as my mind slowly began to function. Then I felt a sharp pain in the back of my head. 
I groaned before opening my eyes. Two worried blue-gray eyes stared back at me.
	"Tenkawa-san? Are you all right?"
	Higurashi Kagome. She was from school. I tried to sit up but the pain in my head grew worse at 
my moving.
	"Stay still!" Kagome told me as I leaned back down. "You cut your head on a rock. I bandaged it
 but it probably still sore."
	"No kidding," I mumbled. I reached back and felt a long bandage that wrapped around my head. 
That was when I noticed that I wasn't in my room. I wasn't even in my house. I was outside. Trees were 
everywhere. "Where am I?" I asked.
	"You wouldn't believe even if I told you," Kagome said with a sigh.
	"You don't think she will, Kagome-sama?" an unfamilar voice said from the other side of me. I 
carefully turned my head and saw a guy sitting on the ground. He was dressed in preist robes and had a tall
 staff beside him.
	I sat up very slowly, leaning back on my elbows for support, to get a better look at him. "Who're 
you?" I said surprised.
	"I think that's our question, girl."
	I sat up all the way and saw another guy. He had long white hair and dog ears on the top of his 
head. Something about him didn't seem right. He wasn't human, but he was at the same time. I shook my 
head. <Where did that come from?> I thought. "Who, or should I say, WHAT are you?" I said.
	"His name is Inu-Yasha--," Kagome said.
	"Feh!" he replied.
	"--I'll explain about him later. And that's Miroku-sama," she motioned to the preist on my other side.
	"I must say it's a pleasure to meet you, Tenkawa-sama," he said. Before I knew what he was 
doing, he had grabbed my hand in his and said, "Forgive my forwardness, but....you would bear my child?"

(Kagome)
As if on cue, thunder clapped in the distance as Tenkawa-san imbedded her fist in Miruko-sama's head.
	"Care to repeat that, boy?!!" Tenkawa-san shouted angerily.
	"Had it comin', ya pervert," Inu-Yasha muttered as Tenkawa brought her fist back and cracked her 
knuckles, grumbling something about Miruko-sama.
	I shook my head. When will he learn?
	Then I sensed something. A shikon shard! And it was close, REAL close. That was when I noticed
 something glowing around Tenkawa-san's neck.
	"A shard!" I exclaimed, pointing to the glowing neclace.
	"Where?!" Inu-yasha shouted before reaching out to grab it. Before I could stop him, he jabbed the 
little jar it was in.
	Light flared from the shard and ran up Inu-yasha's arm.
	"ITAIIII!!!" Inu-yasha yelped as he reteated. "You burned me, wench!!"
	"I did no such thing, dog-boy!!" Tenkawa-san insisted. "This thing did it, not me!!" she pointed to 
the shard.
	"Well who did it doesn't matter, gimme the shard!!"
	"Why should I, Fang-Face!!"
	"What'd you call me, wench?!"
	"You heard, ya--"
	"Okay you two, stop it!" I intterupted. "Inu-yasha, leave Tenkawa-san alone. Tenkawa-san--"
	"Please--call me Kasey, all right? I'm still getting used to the last-name-calling-thingy. And knock 
off the '-san'."
	"--uh...Kasey-chan okay?"
	"Fine."
	"Kasey-chan, please don't egg him on."
	"Whatever. Just don't grab at me without warning like that, Inu-yasha."
	"Come again? 'GRAB at you'?! I was aiming for the shard and it happened to be around your 
freakin' neck, human!!"
	"Well then watch where ya aiming why doncha, Fang-Face?! Huh?!"
	"What was that?!"
	Not again....

(Miroku)
I watched in amazment as Kasey-sama and Inu-yasha traded one insult after another, just like Inu-yasha 
would do with Kagome-sama.
	Then Kagome-sama jerked. She looked towards a mountain in the distance, a look a fear on her 
face.
	"No," she whispered as the sky above us suddenly filled with black clouds.
	"Look out!" Inu-yasha shouted before knocking Kagome-sama and Kasey-sama out of the way of 
a chi blast.
	"What'd ya do that for, Fang-face?!" Kasey-sama yelled.
	"So you'd rather have gotten killed, girl?! And don't call me that!!"
	"Call you what, Fang-Face?!"
	"Will you both shut up?!" Kagome-sama intterupted. "We have bigger problems at hand!!"
	"How right you are, wench."
	We all turned towards the speaker. Sessho-maru.

(Inu-yasha)
Sessho-maru looked at us with the ever smug look on his face. The one I hated. Beside him was the idiotic 
toad, Jaken.
	"What're you doing here?!" I demanded, grabbing the Tetsusaiga's hilt.
	"What else? To kill you," he said in a calm voice. His eyes turned to Kasey. "Picked up another 
wreched human, brother? As if one isn't enough for you..."
	"Watch your mouth, Sessho-maru!" I cautioned.
	Kasey looked from Sessho-maru to me and back again. She stood up, her eyes focusing on 
Sessho-maru.
	"Hey Kagome," she said, oblivious to how much danger we were about to get into. She jerked her 
thumb towards Sessho-maru. "Who the freaky chick?"
	Kagome, Miroku, Jaken, and myself fell to the ground in shock of her words. Sessho-maru just 
stared at her.

(Kasey)
"What'd I say? What'd I say?" I asked, not getting why they reacted like that.
	Suddenly the white-haired girly-boy was three inches away from me.
	"Whoa!" I gasped in surprised.
	"I am not a 'chick'," he said in a steely voice that made you want to run the other way in fear.
	<Don't run,> a voice in my head said. <He's the kind that likes to idimidate...before he kills ya. 
Stand your ground. Fight back.> Yet wile I was thinking that, I noticed my heart was beating faster and I 
felt a strange heat rush through my body instead of the cold dread I knew I should have been feeling.
	"Back off, pal!" I said pushing him in his chest while backing away. He wasn't much taller than me, 
about three or four inches, but he didn't move when I pushed him.
	"Kasey, get away from him!" Inu-Yasha shouted as he jumped into the air. He landed in between 
us, his rusted sword forming into a long curved one.
	I felt Kagome grab my arm and pulled me away from the two. "Get back here!" she hissed. We 
ducked behind a tree along with Miruko. "You have no idea how suicidal that was!" she said in a low voice.
 "Kasey-chan no baka!"
	"Hey, I didn't know he was a guy!" I protested. "He looks like a girl!"
	She cocked an eyebrow at me.
	"Okay, just a little..." I mumbled before turning my attention back to the two guys. Inu-yasha 
slashed out at Sessho-maru, who dodged easily. Fang-face growled before coming at him again. "Anyway, 
who is he?"
	"He's Inu-yasha's half brother, and he's full youkai; a demon that is." She shivered slightly. "He 
could've killed you, ya know. He's like that."

(Kagome)
"No he wouldn't."
	I stared at Kasey-chan. Her eyes were fixed on Sessho-maru as he and Inu-yasha continued to 
fight. There was something about her eyes, the way she stared at him. They were slightly glazed over. I'd 
seen that look somewhere before, but I couldn't remember where. And her voice was freakingly calm as 
she spoke.
	"Excuse me?" I couldn't help but say.
	"He woldn't have killed me then. I know it."
	"I think she hit her head harder than we thought," Miroku-sama muttered under his breath.
	"Say that again..." Kasey-chan warned, her voice and eyes back to normal, as she cracked her 
knuckles.
	"Nothing! Nothing!" Miroku-sama said quickly.
	Inu-Yasha then tried to hit Sessho-maru in his chest. Expecting it, Sessho-maru leaned the other 
way. That was when I noticed something. Sessho-maru now had a left arm, and from the look of it, it was 
human.
	"Not again! Inu-yasha! Look out!!" I yelled.
	Sessho-maru grabbed Inu-yasha's arm with his right hand, the poison already dripping from his 
fingers. Inu-yasha had no time to react. He just flipped the Tetsusiga to his other hand and let his brother 
grab him. I saw him wince as the poison began to melt his skin. Inu-Yasha slashed the sword towards him. 
Sessho-maru jumped back, but kept holding his arm, intent on destroying it.
	"Oh no! He'll melt it right through!" I suddenly wished I had my bow and arrow so I could distract 
Sessho-maru so he would let Inu-yasha go. "We need some kinda distraction," I mumbled looking around 
for a rock I could throw.
	"What?" Kasey-chan said, suddenly interested.
	"We need to distract Sessho-maru so Inu-yasha and get away before he gets his arm mel--What 
are you doing?!! Are you crazy?!!" Kasey-chan had stepped away from the tree and started to run towards
 the two youkais.
	She turned back and said, "You need a distraction?" She winked and grinned from ear to ear. "I'm 
there!!"
	<BAKA!!> I metally screamed. I knew what she would do.
	Kasey took a deep breath before placing her hand on either side of her mouth, amplifying her voice 
as she yelled, "OOOOIIIII!!!! FLUFFY!!!!!"
	I groaned as Sessho-maru turned his gaze on her. She really did have a death wish.

(Kasey)
I smirked. I had gotten his attention, as well as the others'. "You call that fighting?!!" I shouted. "You fight 
like a girl!! Then again, that's what you look like!!"
	He twichted slightly. I saw a smile flicker on Inu-yasha's face. Sessho-maru must've stopped 
melting his arm.
	"That your idea of armor?! I've seen tin foil that looks stronger than that!!"
	<Come on, Inu-yasha,> I thought. <I can't keep it up forever.>
	"Come on, Fluffy!! Whassa matter?!" I yelled for no reason. Then an idea came to me. "Did I say 
something that bugged ya, Fluffy?! What a wuss!!"
	Once again he appeared right in front of my face.
	"What did you call me, girl?" His voice told me he was peeved.
	"'Fluffy'. Why? You don't think it fits?"
	His right arm suddenly caught hold on my throat. He raised me into the air slightly. His hand 
tightened as he said in a low voice, "No one makes fun of me, girl. I think you need to learn the 
consequences of those who do." The area where he held me began to burn like it was on fire. I saw two 
curved lines appear on his hand.
	"Kasey-chan!!!" Kagome shreiked.
	"Stay back!" Miruko told her when she tried to ran towards me.
	I groaned as the pain in my neck began to grow. I tried to say something, but my throat was burned
 so much it came out as a strangled growl. I closed one eye shut in pain.
	"Let her go, Sessho-maru!!" Inu-yasha demanded as he lept into the air, his sword raised high.
	The little frog guy that was with Sessho-maru waved the staff he was carrying in the direction of 
Inu-yasha's flight. A blast shot out of one of the heads at the top of the staff. Inu-yasha bearly got out of the
 way in time. It hit him in his shoulder, causing him to drop his sword. It reverted back and fell to the ground
 in front of the frog-guy.
	"Don't be botherin' me lord while he's busy, filthy half-breed!" he croaked as he stood over the 
sword.
	"Why you toad!!" Inu-yasha snarled. I saw his shoulder was slightly bleeding from the blast he took.
	<Awaken...>
	Both my eyes slowly opened wide at the 'sound' of the voice. It was the same as before.
	<Who...?> I thought.
	<Power of Dreams....>
	<'Power of Dreams'?> I repeated silently, knowing my voice was damaged beyond thought.
	I glared down at Sessho-maru. Something about him made me want to study him. His golden 
cat-like eyes, his moon-white hair....there was something about him that drew my attention to him, much 
like Greg used to, but.... it was different. The same heat as before spread through out my body.
	Unconciously, I raised my right hand. It shook slightly from the pain. I let it rest on Sesso-maru's 
forearm that was holding me. I gripped his arm.
	He looked at me, curious at what I was planning.
	Just as soon as I saw the lines appear on my hand I felt the acid like liquid flow from my fingers 
and disolved the fabric of his sleeve, seeping onto his arm.
	He cursed under his breath as he quickly let me go, sending me crashing to the ground. My throat 
stung greatly. My voice still not functioning.

(Sessho-maru)
My arm where she had grabbed me burned. She had used my own poison claw against me, but how? She 
glared at me with her purple eyes in a way that others before hadn't done with hatered and comptentment. 
She stared at me with curiosity and wonder along with something I couldn't recognized but knew I had seen
 it before.
	"Jaken," I said, not taking my eyes off the girl sitting on the grass before me. "We're leaving. Now."
	"B-But me lord, what about the Tetsu--" he started to protest.
	"Now!" I said again.
	"Y-yes me lord!"
	As we were lifted into the air, I kept my gaze on the girl as she did the same to me. She rasied her 
hand and touched her throat carefully. I could still see the burns on her neck as we drifted out of sight as 
well as something else. Something that surprised me.
	I saw her smile at me.

(Kagome)
I stood dumbfounded. Seesho-maru had left. Just left, leaving the Tetsusaiga. Snapping back into reality, I 
ran to Kasey-chan, who was still looking after Seesho-maru, her hand on her burned throat.
	"Kasey-chan! Are you all right?" I asked when I reached her.
	She turned towards me. She tried to speak, but ended up nearly choking.
	"Oh no!" I gasped. "You can't use your voice!"
	She gave me a look that said, "Gee, I didn't notice."
	"We need to get you to the villege so Kaede-sama can treat you." I reached down to help her up. 
Kasey-chan raised a hand to stop me and shook her head.
	The shard around her neck suddenly glowed as did her hand that was touching her throat. I saw 
the burn marks slowly beginning to heal. I stepped back in surprised. When she drew her hand away, it 
was healed but I could still see three marks where the burns were.
	"Whoa," she said quietly, starig at her hand. "How did I do that?"
	"You...healed yourself...?" I said, still surprised.
	"It appears Kasey-sama can heal," Miruko said as he appeared beside me.
	"She can?" Inu-yasha asked. He was holding his bleeding shoulder with his free hand.
	"I think so." Kasey-chan stood up. "Let me see your shoulder, Inu-yasha."
	Inu-yasha looked sceptical as he slowly nodded. Kasey-chan stepped up to him and gently placed 
her hand on his shoulder. The same light appeared and his shoulder healed.
	"Cool!" I slightly squeeled with delight as Inu-yasha tested his shoulder. Kasey-chan then touched 
the back of her head, tending to the small gash there. <It'll be handy having someone who can heal with us,> 
I thought. Then I consided something else, <What if Kasey-chan doesn't want to join us? Wait a minute. She doesn't even know she's in fedeal Japan. She might just think we're all nuts. But with all that just happen-->
	I stopped when Kasey-chan suddenly fell to the ground.
	"Are you all right?!" I asked her.
	"Y-yeah," she replied. "Just a little dizzy...and weak," she added.
	"Can you walk?"
	"I think so. Why?"
	I offered her my hand. As she took it, I answered, "I want you to meet with someone. Maybe she 
can tell you what's going on with you."

As we neared Kaede-sama's, Shippou-chan came bounding out of her house.
	"Kagome-chan!" he exclaimed as he jumped into my arms.
	"Hey Shippou-chan!" I greeted.
	"What in heck is that?!" Kasey-chan yelled, pointing at Shippou-chan.
	"Ah....Boy have I got some explaining to do," I said.
	Just then, Kaede-sama stepped out. "Ah, Kagome," she said as she made her way towards us. 
She looked at Kasey. "Who is this girl?"

(Seesho-maru)
I was deep in thought about that strange girl. Something about her didn't seem right.
	"Are you all right, me lord?" Jaken asked me from his spot on a blouder in front of me. I looked 
down at my arm. It had healed from the poison claw the girl used on me.
	"I'm fine," I said plainly. <Stupid toad.> The girl...I couldn't get her out of my mind. Kasey, I heard 
the other wench call her that.
	"Are you sure?" Jaken said. I tuned him out as he kept talking. "How did that bloody girl manage to 
do that is what I'm wondering. She may prove to be a greater enemy than me lord's filthy half brother. I 
think we should dispose of her as soon as we c--gack!!"
	Before I knew what I was doing, I had lept up from my place and grabbed Jaken by his throat with 
my right hand. I bearly let the acid loose as I said in a steely voice, "I will be the jude of what to do with the
 girl, Jaken. Not you. And if I find out that you do anything with my knowlegde of it, I will destroy you." I 
dropped him and turned. I walked off.
	My actions slightly surprised me. Why was I so angry at just the thought of killing that girl....
Kasey.
	Something was wrong with me. But what?
