lameridien.jpg (21316 bytes) Once you get out of the station to Odaiba, you will notice a beautiful hotel.  That's the La Meridien Grand Pacific Hotel Tokyo.  I would love to say that I stayed at this hotel but this hotel was beyond what any of us students can afford.  If you have a friend in Japan you can stay with, that would save you a lot of money!  How to do that?  Easy.

#1)   You can join a Japanese culture club or a conversation program at your university or area that you can help Japanese with their English.
#2)  Make some friends from Japan and most of them are willing to let you stay with them in Japan for a little while.

If anything, there is one building you cannot miss in Odaiba.  It's right there and it attracts your attention immediately.   What building?  It's the Fuji Television Headquarters building.  It's only a three minute walk from Daiba Station on the Yurikamome Line.  If you are a big fan of Japanese television shows, this building is a must see!!!!

Pictured is the Fuji Television Heaquarters building at night!  Chou sugoi ne!? [Awesome isn't it!]

fuji2.jpg (31599 bytes) The Fuji TV building was built by Tange Kenzo, one of Japan's leading architects.  When you take a tour, you directly take a ride to the top inside that sphere in the middle (the observation deck).  There you can see a great view of Odaiba.  When you walk near the entrance, you are greeted with the Fuji symbol statue and a countdown to the year 2000 section.  A few Japanese bypassers watched us as we tried unsuccesfully to have a picture with the statue while we jump...we can imagine what the families around us were thinking.  I was pretty stoked (California term=Happy) to see posters of Japan's top movie "Odoru Daisousassen" and the current Japanese dramas surrounding pillars near the building.  The next thing to do is buy a tour ticket to view the Fuji building.  I believe the cost was like ¥500.

O.k...we've got our tickets....let's check out this tour!!!  (go to Odaiba page 3)
