Civilian Data: (4 January 2002) Augustin Roger (aka A. Rojas, Augustin Rogers) was born on 15 March 1839 in Plattenville, Louisiana. He was the son of Auguste (Augustin) Roger and Emmerante BOURG. He married Marie Delzire BODIN. Records of the 1860 census show him as being enumerated with his stepfather, Joseph and Emerante HIMEL and living in Lafourche Parish. He enlisted in Lafourche Parish. After the war, Augustin returned to Lafourche Parish and lived there for about 10 years. Then he moved to Iberia Parish. While living in Derouen (Iberia Parish), he applied for and received a Confederate Pension. He passed away in 1929 and was laid to rest at the St. John the Evanagelist Church Cemetery on St. Nicholas St., Jeanerette, Louisiana. His widow, Marie Delzire BODIN {ROGERS, Belzire BOUDIN/Delzire BODAN) then applied for a Confederate Widow's pension. The pension application states that he served in Co. H., 18th Louisiana Infantry Regiment. His headstone states that he served in Co. D., 26th Louisiana Infantry Regiment. The family knows that he did survive the war and also survived the Vicksburg campaign (26th Louisiana did take part in this campaign) and was apparently wounded during the Vicksburg campaign. Family lore says that he walked with a cane the remainder of his life.

This soldier may be the same soldier listed as Roger, Augustin...
