CATASTROPHE COYOTE: Unlike his counterpart Calamity, Catastrophe's inventions (usually) work; also, unlike Calamity, Catastrophe can talk. And despite his name, he's proven himself to be more than reliable when it comes to helping Uke and the gang. Owing to their age difference, (or perhaps, to spite it), his romance with Becky is one of the worst-kept secrets in Perfecto Plaza. It was because of his love for Becky that he created the transdimensional portal, in the hopes of sending her to someplace where she'd be safe, never dreaming that it would bring the Tiny Toons into their tooniverse instead.

1971: Don Coyote is born, and quickly begins to tell the doctor how to do his job. (Clearly, this is going to be no ordinary boy.) Due to the fact he's born with a defective pituitary gland, however, he is destined to remain short for his age.
1983: While a sixth-grader at Perfecto Elementary, he first meets six-year-old Rebecca Rat at lunch. At first, she mistakes him for a first-grader. They eventually discover a mutual scientific interest, but, owing to their age difference, remain just good friends. (No, honestly!) Since his creations are reliable to the nth degree, (or maybe in spite of that!), Becky starts referring to him as "Catastrophe", and while he doesn't care for it at first, the nickname sticks. Eventually coming to appreciate the irony, even he stops referring to himself by his real name.
1992: After Ukariah rescues her from the clutches of "The Lord High Mayor" (literally), he places a still-shaken Rebecca, now 15, in the care of their old school friend Catastrophe (now 21) in his secret laboratory, with the instructions to look after her. It isn't too long, however, before they find themselves falling madly in love with each other. To explain away her presence, he starts telling their few friends in the resistance that she's his "lab assistant"! What begins as a mere ruse, however, quickly becomes fact, as her scientific mind comes to the forefront, and she indeed proves indispensable to his work.
1996: After Becky is safely spirited away to Acme Acres ("Parallel Parking"), Catastrophe becomes Ukariah's right-hand man -- er, coyote -- when the bunny becomes Mayor Pro Tem, also modifying the portal even further (to the point where it now appears as an elevator, complete with a pert little "ding"!)("Parallel Bars"). Setting up a new (and even more secret) lab in his home in the Perfecto Desert, it winds up being demolished as part of a plot by the former Lord High Mayor, Robert Rat (or so they think). Caught in the explosion, Catastrophe barely survives just long enough for Uke and Barb to accidentally activate his transporter ring, and the three of them find themselves in Acme Acres for the first time, reunited with their Toon friends, Rebecca, and Alex Redolence (who revives the near-dead coyote) ("The Rat Stuff"). After the gang learns that their adversary is not whom he appears to be, and all are reunited, it's then that Catastrophe makes another startling discovery: the portal was damaging the space/time continuum on the Perfecto side of the tooniverse, so much so that any continued usage would wind up destroying Perfecto Plaza forever. So, with reluctance, Catastrophe shuts the thing down for the last time (he thinks); besides, with the danger to Rebecca over for good, there's no more reason to have it going. He does, however, come up with a transdimensional hologram device, so Becky can communicate with Ruby from the safety of Perfecto Plaza; unfortunately, during her initial message, a solar flare causes the thing to self- destruct.
