CoCoppers & Snatchers
Inspector Sussworth
A tiny Hitleresque figure with an abhorrence of germs and dirt, Sussworth heads the SBG (Special Borrible Group). This small faction of the police was set up in response to the deaths of Dewdrop and Erbie. Fueled by one madman's hatred, the group proves a formidable enemy until complaints begin to circulate from higher-up that the SBG is spending too much money too publicly on what should be kept discrete and out of the public eye. Sussworth believes in his own godlike moral authority to wipe out anything vaguely smacking of subversion, but his tendency towards hysteria can be a great weakness.
Sergeant Hanks
Hanks is Sussworth's second-in-command and biggest blind spot. Despite Sussworth's obsession with germs and neatness, Hanks is a a huge, slobby glutton of a man, his clothes always stained with the evidence of meals past and prophecy of meals to come. His favorite snack is a 'double greasy': eight fried eggs, ten rashers of bacon, and as much fried bread as a plate will hold. He enjoys his job, yes, but all considerations are second to food. Not particularly brave, he seems to exist to be Sussworth's sounding board, and to come up with all the ideas Sussworth will later take credit for.
Officier blume
Perhaps third in the pecking order of the SBG, Blume plays the worried yes-man to Sussworth and Hanks. He often has great misgivings about the feasibility of a plan, but his earnest efforts get shouted down by the obsessive nature of his bosses.
The D.A.C.
A foppish aristocrat who obviously got his position more through family connections than merit, he nonetheless presents a more level head than most of the police force. Presented with the undesirable position of dealing with the Borribles himself, he dumped the responsibility on a more-than-willing Sussworth. He keeps Sussworth strung along with promises of promotions and knighthoods, but his contempt for the SBG is thinly veiled.
Lieutenant Birdlime
A figure never seen, but much talked about, the promotion of Lietenant Birdlime is an axe often dangled about Sussworth's head. Apparently Birdlime is a more proficient junior officer who normally would have been promoted over Sussworth, but wasn't because of the need for the SBG. Still, the threat that Birdlime might do the job better is frequently employed by the D.A.C. to keep Sussworth in line.
Dewdrop bunyan
Dewdrop is one of the rarest but most dangerous of Borrible enemies: a Borrible Snatcher. He was one a Borrible himself (or so he says) until he was caught and clipped and went mad. He masquerades as a rag and bone man, but in fact only patrols the streets looking for stuff to steal. He had captured Borribles before he ran into the Adventurers, but never in that large a group. His name comes from a ball of snot that's always dangling out of one nostril, swinging when he moves.
Erbie Bunyan
'Erbie is Dewdrop's son and fellow Snatcher, prompting the question of what woman would possibly marry or let herself get knocked up by Dewdrop. Erbie is huge and muscular, but mentally retarded and as sadistic as his father if not more so. He follows his father's lead, and his lack of brainpower is more than compensated for by his strength.
