Finally, after 2 years, this victim of hurricane Katrina is finished! Thanks to some "heavy-handed" buffer in the past when the original silver was removed and the satin buffed off, all polishing has been done by hand to keep from removing any more material. Everything has been re-soldered, bent body straightened, some new tone holes made and replaced, some new posts made and replaced. The bottom bow was crushed on the bottom so it had to be totally disassembled, repaired and re-soldered! There are some spots on the body where you can still see the DEEP etching the horn received due the "muck" that was in the flood waters of New Orleans. If I were to try to remove this etching, there would not be a horn left! All springs and screws have been replaced. Owner opted for regular pads. Teflon, synthetic lube, Techcork everywhere. Enjoy!
