I LOVE New York city! It is a wonderful place of lights and places to see. There were taxi cabs, people and graffiti galore and people drove like maniacs and every car had dents. New York city was a senior year trip for people in the drama department. Our drama teacher used to live there, so she was our guide. We went in March of '97 and it was freezing cold, but Times Square is something you can see a hundred times on TV, but it never makes an impact on you until you see it yourself! I saw the Statue of Liberty, FAO Schwarz, the sets of The Rosie O'Donnell Show and Connan O'Brian, rode in many taxi cabs and took tons of pictures. Since it was drama field trip, the main reason we went was to see braodway shows. We saw Phantom of the Opera, A funny Thing Happened on the way to the Forum (starring Whoopi Goldberg), Chicago, Rent (yay!) and The Green Heart. After each show, they would offer a play card with all of the cast members' signatures for a $50 donation to AIDS research. I got one with the Phantom of the Opera cast and have it displayed in a special frame on a wall in the hallway.
