Reason Day & Ann Cooper

 1782 - Aft. 1851    1787 - 1848

Reason ( Rezin, Rison, Rezin ) Day was christened on 21 September 1782 in Over Parish, Cambridgeshire, England. He was the son of Reason Day, Sr. and his wife Mary Hart.

Reason Day, Jr. married on 16 October 1805 at Bluntisham cum Earith, Huntingdonshire, England to Ann Cooper. They lived in Over Parish, Cambridgeshire after their marriage. These two parishes were adjoining each other. Their children were:

1.   Lucy Day born 17 December 1806. She married Alexander Bell on 14 October 1828. He was from Longstanton Parish, Cambridgeshire, England.
2.   Mary Day born 24 March 1808. She was still single in 1851 and lived with her father.
3.   Samuel Day born 28 June 1811.
4.   William Day born 26 December 1812. He was christened in Over  Parish, Cambridgeshire, England on 24 March 1815.  In the 1830's William emigrated to Lockport, Niagra County, New York, USA. More in the next chapter. Lucy, Mary and Samuel were all christened on the same day as William.
These were the only christenings in the Parish Church of the children of Reason Day and Ann Cooper. However we know they had several more. Among the later children were:
5   Sarah Day. Sarah was a witness at the marriage of Joseph and Ann Adams Day.
6.   Joseph Day born in 1822. Joseph married in the Over Parish church on 21 March 1843 to Ann Adams. They were still in Over Parish in the 1851 census and had 3 children. George born 1844, Cooper born 1846, and Charles born 1849. Later in the 1850's Joseph moved to Buffalo, New York where he lived for several years. He then moved to San Jose, Illinois and then to Delavan, Tazewell County, Illinois where his brother William lived. Joseph, Ann, George, Cooper and Charles are all buried in Priairie Rest Cemetery, Delavan, Illinois, USA.

Reason Day who shows in Bluntisham cum Earith, Huntingdonshire, England 1851 census and show as 41 years old may have been a son in this family, but it has not been proven as of now.

Ann Cooper Day died 13 February 1848 in Over Parish, Cambridgeshire, England. Reason Day was still living in the 1851 census. Research continues.
