Expressive Drumming and Chanting Rose Husted nightsky1126@yahoo.com 585-746-9737 For our grand finale, Rose Husted will conduct a presentation titled Expressive Drumming and Chanting. Rose Husted started drumming ten years ago. In 2000, Rose began teaching and has conducted Drumming and Chanting Circles at fourteen different locations. She has traveled to Omega Institute, to attend several weekend workshops with Ubaka Hill. After attending many African Drumming classes with various teachers, Rose was motivated to create her own rhythms. Since she could not find a class in Rochester that allowed for freedom of expression, she decided to create one. Rose developed Expressive Drumming, a program that encourages people to express themselves authentically, through drumming and chanting. She teaches songs from various traditions: Buddhist, Native American, African and Sufi. She provides African drums or you may bring your own. Her program also encourages improvisation. Rose teaches Expressive Drumming and Chanting at The Center for Health & Well-Being. Learn more about Rose at her website. Learn more about Center for Well-Being by visiting their vending area at the conference or at their website. |
