To start the day, we will have special guest musicians Sera Smolen and Daniel Birch. Sera and Daniel will welcome you to the day with their unique blend of cello and sarod music. Sera has been a student at Wisdom's Goldenrod since 1973. She has studied meditation with Anthony Damiani and Gurumayi Chidvilasananda, the successor to Muktananda. Sera has been playing cello for Her for 17 years. In 1999, She offered an extraordinary, special training, by invitation only, to 14 musicians from around the world, which Sera was a part of. Additionally, the woman who made Sera’s cello is a healer! Since 1992 when Sera’s cello was made, she has been practicing vibrational healing with the instrument. More recently, she has been including Sera in her classes, teaching healing through vibration. Sera loves practicing healing as she perform. Her husband, who makes the instruments now that she is a full time healer, is also an acoustical researcher. During the conference registration, Sera may play another instrument he made, called a tenor violin. Daniel Birch was a sarod professor in Nepal for many years. He lives now in Ithaca with his wife. Widsom’s Goldenrod provides an environment for individual and group study and meditation. Studies encompass a wide range of topics in Eastern and Western thought, from ancient to contemporary. Study topics include Buddhism, Vedanta, Platonism, Neo-Platonism, alchemy, psychology, astrology, modern philosophy, and the works of Paul Brunton and Anthony Damiani.
