Hello, Thank you for your e-mail to EA Technical Support.
I understand you're having a little trouble with Madden 2004 today.
From my understanding of the e-mail you are unable to connect to a friend.
Let's see what we can do to assist you with this issue.
The internet port information is as follows.
Make sure that these ports are open if a router is being used with the title.
Ports 10500-10519 are TCP and are outgoing ports for connecting to the Madden 2004 server.
Port 13505 is TCP and is an outgoing port for connecting to the EA Messenger (buddy list) server.
Port 3658 is UDP and is an incoming/outgoing port for connecting to another user to play a game.
Port 7777 is UDP and is an incoming/outgoing port for connecting to another user for headset use during a game.
Ports 10500-10519 and 13505 are TCP and only for outgoing connections. If a user can connect to the servers and enter the Online Menu and lobby, they do not need to do anything with these ports. If they cannot, they need to be open for TCP.
Ports 3658 and 7777 are UDP and used for connecting to other users and playing games.
Port 3658 must be open for UDP for a game to be played.
Port 7777 should be open for UDP if the user wished to use the Voice over IP headsets.
I apologize for any inconvenience.
If this still does not help please let me know so I can further assist you in finding a resolution to this.
Thank you for your time.
Wallace B.
