Kelso, William Thomas (1914 - 1967)

Born: Australia (Rockhampton, Queensland)
Agricultural chemist
Kelso spent most of his working life in the Agricultural Chemist's Laboratory of the Department of Agriculture and Stock, Queensland. He planned for, and eventually supervised, the transfer of the Cereal Chemistry Section to the Queensland Wheat Research Institute in Toowoomba.

Career Highlights

Born 11 January 1914. Died 3 September 1967. Educated University of Queensland (BSc 1940). Queensland Public Service from 1932, Agricultural Chemist's Laboratory, Department of Agriculture and Stock 1938-67, special duties in the Army associated with radar ca 1939-44, developed the laboratory's work in cereal chemistry from 1950, Senior Cereals Chemist and later chief Chemist in charge of general agricultural chemistry as well as cereal chemistry, Officer-in-Charge, Plant Nutrition Section 1967.
