This is my circuits/schematics page. This page is cross referenced to during the construction of Carpet Monster (coming soon!) and the tutorial.
This
circuit allows manual drive of standard radio control servos, which are
often used for building robotic arms and legs. The 10k potentiometer controls
the pulse width from about 1.5ms to 2.5ms. This causes a the servo to move
until an internal pulse generator, whose pulse width is directly proportional
to the spindle position, is in sync with the external pulses.
The 15k and 220k resistors may need their values tweaking, consider replacing them with presets to get the circuit calibrated. The NPN transistor shown is any general purpose type; BC184L, 2N2222, 2N3704 will all work; check their pinouts before you start construction. The servo connection wire will be coloured something like, <black, red, blue> or <black, red, white>. Black is 0V, Red is +ve and White/Blue is signal.
