Pre-story Authors Notes: (Well folks I’ve come up with a new idea and I am astonished with myself! To say the least. In this Ranma 1/2 crossover fanfiction I am making Akane the favored fiancé. Not only that but she is the star of the WHOLE STORY! Can you believe it!?! I hardly can and I’m the writer! Well I have to go out on a limb here cause I need a little more variety. Ranma is the main character in all of my Fics, so, I’ve decided to base this new story on a minor character. Not just any minor character either, but my most hated. AKANE! ((Now imagine that last word dripping with blood and being said in a dark menacing voice)) You’d never catch animeaddiction pulling a stunt like this, and he’s my main influence. But after watching a certain movie I just had to do this or something relatively similar. Akane just seemed to be the only character at the time who fit the idea. I also plan on making this fic a contest of some sort. I plan on writing the first three or so chapters and then I want one of my readers to give me a title for the story, the one who comes up with the most fitting ((and catchy)) title will be given the permission to write the rest of the story and take it from there. I think it could actually grow into a really great fic. It will take place about two or three years after the Ranma 1/2 Manga. Well that’s all from me. ENJOY!!)

PROLOGUE

Akane’s Decision

Two years. It’s been two years since she had finished high school. One year since her two sisters and her fiance went to college and university. Two years and she still couldn’t decide what she wanted to do with her life. Akane Tendo slumped down on the couch as she watched T.V. It was an American program and she was more into her thoughts than she was the program. She sighed as she desperately tried to think of something that she wanted to do with her life. At first she had been so sure that she wanted to be a master martial artist and take over the family dojo, but her heart wasn’t in it anymore.

The short dark blue haired girl lazily popped a potato chip into her mouth and began to think about what other people did. Nabiki had moved to America the year before to go to University studying Law to become a lawyer. Akane almost laughed at that. Nabiki had a habit of doing anything she could to get money, legal or not. Kasumi had married Dr. Tofu and lived in a small house with him in Yokohama while she went to University and studied medicine. She and Tofu had already gave birth to a daughter the previous year. HELL, Even _Ranma_ had gone to college majoring in physical education, studying to become a better Martial arts instructor. He even had a part time job as a physical education apprentice, helping out at a local public school in Juuban.

Shampoo Cologne and Mouse all moved the Neko-Hanten to Juuban so that Shampoo could continue chasing after Ranma. With Ukyo’s main competition out of the way her okinomiyaki business was thriving. And she had opened up a second restaurant on the other side of the district. Her cousin was looking after that establishment while Ukyo stayed in Nerima. Speaking of okinomiyaki; Akane looked over to the clock which read 2:00.

"Time to go to work." She sighed and got up off the couch, turning off the T.V. and going up to her room to change into her work clothes.

***********

Ukyo Kuonji, One of the best okinomiyaki cooks in Japan and former fiancé to Ranma Saotome, smiled and waved as another customer left her establishment; The Ucchan. "Thanks for stopping by!" She said cheerfully. She then began cooking up another okinomiyaki for the next customer.

She began to hum a happy tune as she worked. Her thoughts matched her outward appearance almost exactly. She was currently thinking about how quiet and peaceful Nerima was with the absence of most of the martial artists in the area. Even Kuno and his sister were moved away to college elsewhere. She had given up on Ranma, though it saddened her to admit her defeat to Akane she knew that they loved each other and that it was inevitable that they would one day marry. They even said right in front of everyone that they were going to get married as soon as both of them finished college.

Ukyo also thought back to the other fiancé rivals that she had once battled with almost daily over Ranma’s heart. Shampoo still hasn’t given up, even with Ranma and Akane’s announcement, but Ukyo knew that the purple haired amazon would soon see the light sooner or later. Cologne was another issue all together, she would never give up and her persistence would probably be the death of her; LITERALLY!

She served the customer his okinomiyaki and he walked over to a table nearby and sat down to eat it. Ukyo looked to her watch, it read: 2:30. She looked up just in time to see Akane entering the store. She smiled at the short haired woman, who was surprisingly wearing a very similar attire as Ukyo’s usual okinomiyaki chef outfit.

"Right on time as usual Akane."

Akane smiled back at the chestnut haired chef. "Thanks Ukyo. I try." With that Akane walked around to the other side of the counter with Ukyo and began to take orders from a few of the customers that entered the restaurant shortly after Akane did. Ukyo and Akane began talking as usual while they made okinomiyaki for the customers.

"Hey, Akane?" Asked Ukyo.

"Yeah?"

"I’m looking to open a third restaurant somewhere in Juuban, The income from both Ucchans has skyrocketed and we have just enough for it. I know Ranma is at school there so I was thinking maybe you’d like to run that one over there. Your cooking skills are nearly as good as mine now and it’d be an excellent opportunity."

Akane frowned a little. "It’s a nice offer Ukyo and I’d love to but I just don’t think..."

Ukyo cut her off. "...That it’s what you want to do with your life. Right?" said Ukyo with a smirk.

Akane looked shocked. "H-How did you?" Ukyo chuckled.

"Akane, every time someone offers you a job or asks you something you always say the same thing. I practically had to threaten your life to get you to come work for me here."

Akane shook her head. "I wasn’t that bad!"

Ukyo nodded and began preparing another okinomiyaki. "No, you’re right you weren’t that bad but you were close. I’m still surprised that you’ve come so far in your cooking since highschool. You’ve went from Toxic to tasteful in almost no time."

Akane glared at Ukyo. "Surely my cooking really wasn’t that bad back then! Ryoga always ate them and liked it."

Ukyo handed a finished okinomiyaki to the customer and sat down now that there were no more for her to serve. "Actually Akane, your cooking was worse. I was less afraid of you as a rival than I was of your cooking killing my Ranchan before I could marry him, and Ryoga only ate it to make you happy. It was all because of that crush he had on you."

Akane handed an okinomiyaki to a customer and glared at Ukyo. "I thought we agreed that you wouldn’t call him _your_ Ranchan anymore! He’s _my_ fiancee!"

Ukyo leveled a glare at Akane and said in an irritated monotone voice. "Akane, I was using past tense. Try to stay on topic okay?"

Akane blushed and smiled sheepishly. "Sorry. Go on."

Ukyo composed herself and continued. "Anyway I guess the whole point I’m trying to make is You need to relax, just don’t think about what you want to do so hard and it’ll come to you. You’ve got really good English skills maybe you could become an English teacher or you could become an actress you always liked theater arts."

Akane shook her head. "No, I’ve considered all of those. But none of them sound very appealing to me now that I’m out of highschool. I’m thinking, maybe I could do something in America. I speak, read, and write English fluently so I could probably make it over there."

"Go for it." Stated Ukyo as she stood up to serve a customer that had just walked in the door. "I really think you’ve got what it takes to make it over there. Nabiki could help you out she goes to university there."

Akane nodded but then put on an extremely thoughtful expression. "Yeah I think so but I still don’t know _what_ I want to do down there if I do go."

Ukyo shrugged. "Do you think I always wanted to be an okinomiyaki cook? I used to want to be a ballerina for God’s sake!"

Akane giggled. "I just don’t seem to be able to see you as a ballerina Ucchan."

"What makes you think I couldn’t have made it as a ballerina!?!" Asked Ukyo angrily. She then sighed and calmed down a bit. "Just Don’t think about it so hard girl, it’ll come to you when you least expect it."

"WHERE ON EARTH AM I NOOOOW!!!"

Ukyo Akane and all of the customers at the Ucchan jumped as the strangers voice rang out. "Ryoga?" Asked Akane as she got a good look at the lost boy. Ryoga looked up from his current position kneeling on the floor at the girl he had a crush on for the last three years.

"A-Akane? W-What are you doing in Afghanistan?" He asked in confusion. Ukyo frowned and glared at the lost boy.

"What are you doing here again Ryoga? Did you lose your handheld GPS thingy again?" Ryoga nodded sheepishly as he got up and sat on a stool .

"Yeah. I was showing it to Ranma at the college and I was kind...bragging that I would never get lost again." Akane giggled at Ryoga’s misfortune.

"And then you turned around and you were lost again, right?" Asked Akane. Ryoga blushed a deep Crimson and stared at his feet then nodded.

"Yeah."

Akane started up an okinomiyaki for Ryoga to cheer him up. "Your lucky my sister bought you one of those as a parting gift. If you didn’t have it you’d be lost all the time like usual."

Ryoga looked at Akane confused again, much like Ranma usually does. "She bought it for me? I thought she blackmailed the creator into giving her seventeen copies to sell and then gave me the leftover."

Akane couldn’t think of a response to that. She had thought that she had bought it for Ryoga out of the kindness of her heart but Ryoga’s version sounded a lot more like her middle sister. She wondered what Nabiki was currently doing in America for a moment but then decided that she probably didn’t want to know.

***********

Somewhere in America.

"And so class Nabiki Tendo has showed us an excellent way to use black mail to actually get a criminal to confess. It takes hard work and research but it is most effective as you can see." The teacher then indicates with an open hand a man who was currently shaking in fear on the floor as Nabiki stood over him with a superior smirk. "You can get up now mister Davis."

"Please kill me."

***********

The Tendo dojo later that night, about 7:30.

Akane lay back on a three person couch in the Tendo living room. Soun sat on a single chair and Genma and Nodoka sat together on a double seated couch. They were all currently watching the end of a show on The Learning Channel about forensic science. The credits rolled and the television announced the show that would follow.

"Next on the Learning Channel take a journey fifty billion years in the past as we talk to some of the worlds leading palaeontologists as well as the only palaeontologist to have seen an actual dinosaur in real life."

*Dinosaurs?* Akane thought with more than a little interest.

The Boob tube continued. "Be amazed as these people bring you to a world of wonder and amazement , but also terror and ferocity. As well as the infamous Jurassic Park where scientists brought these monstrous creatures back to life."

AS Akane watched the show she became entranced with every single word uttered and every picture shown. She became hypnotized with Dr. Grant’s stories of Jurassic Park and Ian Malcolm’s story of site B. It all clicked in her mind and everything fell into place. She knew what she wanted to do with her life she knew what she wanted to do. Akane Tendo was going to become a palaeontologist.

{Authors notes: More? Can anyone say "The first Jurassic Park three/ Ranma 1/2 Crossover?"? I sure can. And I am going all out with this story yo will not know what happens next. With it being FAR after the Ranma 1/2 Manga There’s no telling what I’ll do I sure as hell am not going to follow completely with personalities or story lines. The Jurassic Park characters will be fairly the same but there will be huge differences in the story. You’ll recognize the story at the beginning of Chapter 01 but after that I am gonna be relentless. I’m really excited with the three chapters I have planned out so far. EVEN IF IT IS AKANE! I really hope you (the readers) enjoy it. I will keep writing my other stories even The Saotome Blade. Which I haven’t really abandoned. Just going really slow with. By the way that mr. Davis in America that was cowering in fear of Nabiki was actually Jon Davis of Korn, this is how he got his depressing start in the music industry.}
