This desperate poem was written by Ali Glaisa (aka Shwayib) after immigrating from Libya during the Italian occupation. He fought the Italians in the battles to defend Misrata, before settling in Hammam Maryut, Egypt, where he died in 1942 at the age of about 80 years. He sent this poem to his friend Ali bin Hasan who had immigrated from Misrata to Tunisa.
