Arizona Black Rattlesnake
Crotalu viridis cerberus
Description
A black or blackish to a dark brown colored snake. Most adults will have a dark brown or dark gray blotch saddle  pattern separated by light colored markings. Some jet black individuals will have dramatic color change from day (black) to night (brown to gray).

Size
The Arizona Black Rattlesnake is a medium sized snake. They can reach lengths of 3 feet and occasionally reach a length of 3.5 feet.

Prey
"Cerbs" are a generalist feeder. Neonates will prey on lizards and small rodents. As adults they will prey upon small rabbits, hares, squirrels, roadrunners, quail, dove, thrashers, frogs and toads.
