CLUB CONSTITUTION BELOW:  

Article I - Name

The name of the organization is The Ju Jutsu Club at the Ohio State University. 

Article II – Purpose

The purpose of the Ju Jutsu club is to provide a broad knowledge of self defense tactics for real world situations while promoting physical fitness.  

Article III – Objectives

1.)    to provide OSU faculty and students self defense techniques

2.)    to provide any member the opportunity to practice and use their knowledge in competition

3.)    to promote physical fitness

 

Article IV – Officers

The club officers are: President, Vice President, and Treasure.

Duties:  President

1.)    Regularly attend practices.

2.)    Ensure that all Club paperwork required by the University administration is turned in promptly and deal with the University administration, regulations, and policies in conjunction with the other officers.

3.)    The University's Quarterly President' meetings for Sport Clubs.

4.)    Attend other quarterly meetings required by Rec Sports.

5.)    Organize club events (at least 1 per year).

6.)    Maintain a club roster and contact information.
Vice President

1.)     Regularly attend practices

2.)    Fill in for the President if requirement can not be completed.

3.)    Maintain communication within the club.

4.)    Act as public relations correspondent.

5.)    Head of Recruitment ( delegate tasks and design and pass out fliers)

Treasurer

            1.) Regularly attend practices

            2.) Manage club finances

            3.) Attend meetings required by Rec Sports concerning finance

            4.) Propose spending ideas and options

            Elections: Officers are elected at the start of each school year

offices can be held for 2 years at most. Nominations are open until the 3rd week of practices. Then the club votes on each candidate: majority vote wins election.

If an officer is not fulfilling his/her duty the office may be challenged and loss of office may incur.

 

Article V – Practices

Practices will be held in OSU sports facilities. The President is in charge of making facilities requests the quarter before they are needed. The coach will run practices and have the authority to delegate assistants and/or instructors. If the coach is unable to attend the president or highest ranking belt take control of the practice.

 

Article VI – Dues and Finance

Each club member is responsible for paying and nonrefundable $60 fee each quarter. Dues should be paid for by the 4th week of the quarter.

If not paid in full by the time belt tests are taken you may not test for your next belt. 

Article VII – Membership

In order to be a member of the club you must be a student of faculty member of the Ohio State University. 

Article VIII – Disciplinary Action

If the unlikely case that disciplinary action need taken the club officers and coach may determine the course of action.
